U.S.A, I'm a kiwi but we all know that answer. Just like the first test match was between Canada and America. Go figure.

What I would like to know is how come they never embraced those sports as passionately as the many sports they play today. It would have been great to see, I think they would have dominated.

Actually the USA. The last time rugby was held in the Olympics was in 1924 in Paris and the American team beat France 17-3. It hasn't been played since then. Who would have guessed?

It is the USA (no, seriously) who won the title back in 1924 when they beat France in the final.
Rugby then fell off the Olympic schedule.
