If a group of atheists formed a religion and part of their dogma required them to perform rituals 3 times daily would it be protected?

If their ritual required them to tear pages from religious books and make oragami figurines from them?

If their ritual required them to poke voodoo needles into effigies of Jesus on the cross?

Would that be protected under freedom of religion?

For people to get married they should love each other and the bible says that the sign to the world that some people are followers of Jesus Christ is that they should love each other. Hence do christians need any other love to get married?

The photograph showing Joseph Rutherford together with other Governing Body members and headquarter staff at Bethel in Brooklyn New York City all celebrating Christmas with presents and the other usual decorations that appears in the Ray Franz book, In Search of Christian Freedom, is this photo authentic as my ex partner who is now a Witness will not believe that it is.

example, people dont say I dont like that dog because his white or I dont like that dog because his black,so why do they do it with people? Isnt color one off the most beautiful things God has given to us. If a person who dislikes people because they are black gets to heaven and God is a black man? what..... are they going to say they dont want to go in......I love God above.

Having led a wicked life, you are doomed to spend eternity in hell. The devil (quite a generous guy, once you get to know him) offers you a choice of punishments:

(A) To continuously push a heavy boulder up a steep slope. Your arms ache agonisingly all the time and yet you must keep pushing this rock for ever.

(B) To stand in the middle of a lake with luscious fruits hanging all around you. You are tormented with a great hunger and a burning thirst and yet the minute you reach out for a fruit it moves out of your reach. The minute you bend down to drink the water, the level of the water drops.

(C) Traditional punishment. You are thrown into a fiery pit where you spend eternity burning in an unquenchable fire.

So, which punishment do you choose?

I'm even asking this of myself. I think that there are many times, particularly in matters of faith and politics, the more I or someone else displays anger, especially vindictive anger, the more doubt I or they possess. Thoughts? Thanks all.

Wouldn't it have been really great if James Cameron had included in his upcoming documentary for the Discovery Channel, a segment of commentary and opinions from the following Y!A R&S regulars:

Sho-Nuff Nolte
Mayor Darwin
JIBBA JABBA
bettierage
Laptop Jesus 2.0
The Dude
ZERO COOL
JP

And a few others, of course. (Tell me who I've forgotten?) Had he done this, I wouldn't miss it for the world.

Uh, maybe it's in southern France, somewhere...or possibly at Glastonbury...
I mean, how many "tombs of Jesus" do you think there might be, actually?
I guess it's just so hard to accept that the real tomb of Jesus is EMPTY, that people just have to keep "finding" His tomb all over the world....
If the Jewish Sanhedrin 2000 years ago could have produced any proof that Jesus was either still in His tomb, or alive and just wandered off, in spite of the guards, don't you suppose they would have? If they couldn't do it when they were right there, on he spot, so to speak, whatever makes any one think they can do it today?
What do you think?

I believe there is an important distinction to be made between religion and spirituality. Religion I take to be concerned with belief in the claims to salvation of one faith tradition or another-- an aspect of which is acceptance of some form of meta-physical or philosophical reality, including perhaps an idea of heaven or hell. Connected with this are religious teachings or dogma, ritual, prayers and so on. Spirituality I take to be concerned with those qualities of the human spirit-- such as love and compassion, patience, tolerance, forgiveness, contentment, a sense of responsibility, a sense of harmony, which bring happiness to both self and others.
