They didn't forget about him.. in fact, when God called Moses he said the people of Israel were "crying out" to him because of the harsh slavery, and he wanted to answer their prayers and free them.
Many other people had a relationship with God, we just remember Moses because he was a leader and because he wrote it down. :-)

Its called the advent of sin. And not "everyone" forgot about HIM. There was Lot and his wife & family...who narrowly escaped the Sodom & Gomorrha event. (Lot's wife didnt exactly make it tho').....anyhow, this is what happens when we as his creation are not in constant daily fellowship with GOD!
Adam & Eve were in such communion with our Father, until they decided to disobey. The sin just increased all more, and at a fast rate.
Moses pleaded with GOD for Sodom, but only Lot and his family were upright enough to be spared.
IT IS NOT DIFFERENT FROM PRESENT TIME!: We have forgotten and neglected our GOD in great measure :*(
Just bc' ppl forget their Maker- doesnt make HIM any less real, and EVER~PRESENT!!!

Because Moses was likely a character that was the aggregate of several early Israelite leaders.
Also because the Old Testament was written by a tribe of goat-herders wandering around the desert taking wild guesses at how old the earth was.

The people forgot a lot of things back then . They had to see a miracle every other day or they said God was not real. Can you imagine seeing the types of miracles they saw? Now think of all the miracles we see each day....and all the life we destroy through pollution, chemicals and murder. Very sad. God is very real in each of us just as much today as yesterday. You just have to know where to look.

No, you are forgetting about Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph and many generations who were God-fearing people.
If you look at Matthew 1 you have a list of God-fearing generations, as you do in Hebrews 11 & various spots in the Old Testament.
Hey you changed your pic!

I don't know why that ought to surprise you so much...it didn't take Israel too long to forget about Him again once Moses got there, did it?
It seems they were always forgetting about Him, and He kept sending prophets to remind them....
Come to think about it, most "Christians" I know go to church on Sunday...but then they tend to have forgotten all about Him by Tuesday morning....

If Moses existed, then why don't Jews burn lambs and cut the throats of goats anymore, like they did in the Bible, "unto the Lord of Hosts".
