In the Bible it states that those who had faith in God were saved.

Ex. Noah, Abraham, and so many more.

The Jewish sacrificial system pointed toward Christ. They were to have faith in the "Lamb slain from the foundation of the world" and dying believing in a saviour they would be saved. Read Hebrews 11. "By faith" believers accomplished great things for God, yet have "received not the promise" (v 39). When Christ returns to resurrect the righteous the righteous dead will rise from the grave 1st (1 Thess 4:17) and the righteous living will follow. ("Prevent" in this text means precede.)

Jerusalem was at a busy "cross road" of trade, so all nations could have known about the coming Savior. During WWII there was a vast number of people found in Africa observing the Biblical Sabbath that the "world" did not know about. The beliefs were evidently brought back by the Queen of Sheba visiting King Solomon.

God speaks to all hearts to follow Him - He's the one who calls us all. The Bible speaks of some who answered His call before there was "a people" - Noah is the most noteable. And I have no doubt He spoke to others who chose to follow HIm that we do not know about. I've read missionary books where the tribes were looking for the "white man with the Book" because a spiritual being visited them and they were already keeping Sabbath holy.

God works in mysterious ways and would that none were lost!

The way to heaven is through Christ and Christ has existed since the beginning.

Jesus was born later and became a vessel for the Christ...hence - Jesus the Christ.

That a good question!

I'll try to answer directly from the bible.

Heb 11:24-26 By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, choosing rather to be mistreated with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward.

The OT saints, like Moses were all looking forward to Christ. They lived in an ages shadows and types. For example, the passover lamb..etc all point to Christ. Therefore ppl in the OT was saved through Christ too. Without the atonement of Christ do you think they can come to God with their good works? Christ is the Lamb of God.

Or those who never have the opportunity of knowing about Christianity?

The truth is that all roads (religions) lead to heaven eventually, and going through Christ is just one of them. All roads do not suit everyone however, some going only a little distance while some go further; some promise so much only to deliver so little; some take eternity to cover a little distance while some are more direct.

There is always one that fits a person's consciousness, and if he is happy with it, fine. When it is time to change, God is there to guide him.

First of all, salvation is only through Jesus Christ but not all who are saved will go to heaven. Remember, "the meek will inherit the earth (land in some translations) and they will live forever upon it." Heaven has been reserved for those who will rule as kings and priests with Christ. No one who died before Christ offered up his perfect human life on our behalf will be part of that group of ruling humans because the way to heaven was not open yet. However, many who died before Christ's sacrifice will be resurrected to live on earth because of the fact that his sacrifice was applied to all men. They will begin being resurrected as soon as Armegeddon is over.

People who lived BC lived under the Law. Although keeping the Law wont save a person...Christ came to fulfill the Law. Those souls who were waiting for Messiah were released from the prison of death at Christ's resurrection.

Adam, Moses, David, Abraham....etc...they're all in heaven.

Praise God!

God revealed himself to various generations differently to make them get access back to Him. In our generation the revelation is through Jesus Christ and after Him there has been no other revelation. Hence the continuos emphasis on Jesus.
God has revealed himself plainly in and through his creation to all people. However people reject the basic knowledge of God, aand live their own way Romans 1:18-20
In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these days he has spoken to us by his Son. Hebrew 1:1-2

The people who died before Christ was born are judged according to whether they are righteous human beings.

There was a place in Hell that wasn't on fire and was really comfortable called "Abraham's Blossom ". If you are wondering how is it possible that Hell was comfortable, my answer is remember that God is the one who made it, God just gave it to the Devil. But as soon as Jesus came to hell (after he died on the cross), he preached to all the people in "Abraham's Blossom" for 3 day (That was what he was doing between the time he died on the cross until his Resurrection back to earth). And after that he took all of them to heaven (including Abraham's Blossom) and Hell became completely on fire and now there is no place in Hell that is comfortable.
