Here is the verse in context for Proverbs 30:23

20 "This is the way of an adulteress:
She eats and wipes her mouth
and says, 'I've done nothing wrong.'

21 "Under three things the earth trembles,
under four it cannot bear up:

22 a servant who becomes king,
a fool who is full of food,

23 an unloved woman who is married,
and a maidservant who displaces her mistress.

What do you think this verse refers to by the unloved woman who is married (see the previous verses).
I'd like to get others' thoughts on these verses. Thanks!

I think what they were really after was pr0n....Lesbian pr0n...
And sex, and sex ed., and of course, ERASERS.

The Nazis were really after lesbian porn, sex, sex ed, and ERASERS.

C.S. Lewis converted to Christianity, and I don't give a damn.

His quotes that attempt to make Christianity seem more logical than atheism appear to be only immature accusations of "that's a foolish belief" with no legitimate reasoning behind the statement.

All I see from his quotes--the main ones posted on here by fanboys, of course--is just like any other "Oh mah gawd, not believing in Jesus is stoopid!!!1!" comment, but in a more seemingly dignified way.

Agree or no?

I'm Roman Catholic, and I have heard stuff about chanting sutras (the buddist kind), can help relax, calm you, stuff like that. I've been wanting to try this, but I'm not sure if chanting sutras would go against my religion or not. I would also like to try some other aspects of buddism like that, but still follow my churches beliefs (as well as my own), go to church, and stuff like that.

Would it be bad to practice the peace of mind stuff from buddism and be Roman Catholic?

I will always believe in God and follow Catholic beliefs and have no intention of converting.

The symbol ">" means "greater than." Yes, I will assume at least one person here (maybe someone really young) hasn't learned what ">" means.

Personally, I do think Darwin has done more than Jesus. Jesus is simply accredited to things that are not verifiable such as saving our souls and blah blah blah. On the other hand, Darwin gave us the mechanisms that our species had to go through to get us to our current state. Also Dawkins has given us more than the pope. Pope Benedict XVI and his minions have only bought red Prada shoes and told people in Africa that condoms are a sin. On the other hand, Dawkins has been a leader in public education for many years, and he has contributed libraries worth of knowledge to the field of Zoology and Biology. Therefore, to me, Darwin is > Jesus and Dawkins is > Pope Benedict XVI.

Atheist view of humanity: Human beings and the earth are no more special than any other natural phenomenon. No greater power exists to care about humanity; the only thing that makes us important is the fact that we are important to ourselves and to each other.

Christian view of humanity: Human beings are the special creation of God, and they alone are imbued with a soul that is immortal. What makes us important is that we are uniquely important to God, whose love and care intervene to improve the lives of those who believe in him.

I think I've accurately depicted the two views. Which one (if either) sets forward a more "arrogant" depiction of human beings?

evolution is tied in with Intelligent Design? Why would it not be possible for them to go hand in hand? Why is it not possible that an intelligent designer, God, started everything off, and then the process of evolution kicks in to continue life, per a perfect plan of God?

When I was a teenager, THE COMMUNISTS were "them", and "we" were the US and anybody aligned with the US. Now that the communist superpower is no longer a threat, who is the new "them"?

Isn't it amazing how they can switch "them" like that?

Christian fundies do not believe in abortion and leading a war to make it illegal ---and do not believe that the women or the family have the right to choose!!!
@ they say give it up for ADOPTION instead-----and that sound very crazy to my ears ---why ??
because if a women gave up her child for adoption and later on she decided to have a baby----don't u agree that this two kids might run into each other and decide to get married----or the child might meet his own mom later on and get married or the girl get married with her own dad!!!!!
that's is called incest-----so i am totaly aganist adoption and give a child not urs ur own name ---u can care for a child but never give him ur name.
Why the fundies want a lot of basterds be all over--don't we have enough ???
i do not encourage abortion but i think its ok in the first 3 month ONLY--AND for health or rape or unconsiousness cases.

NOW the most important to me why this fundis never talk or attack adultrey or fornication-
