I read these questions on here about God & how gays & lesbians are damned to hell for their DECISION to be who they are. Some say they need to repent & they will be reformed into someone better... someone straight. I am floored by that ignorance & that hatred.

I guess my position is that not too long ago white men & women were looked down upon if they dated black men or women. Some even dared to say that it was a sin for them to love one another... to be attracted to one another. Could these individuals help their attraction... their love? It seems not. If you see someone around or even if you're married... was it your decision to fall in love? Was it your decision to become attracted? Did one day you say, "I think today is the day I'm going to fall in love with so-and-so." No. It just happens.

So why is it different for gays & lesbians? Why do the simple laws of attraction not apply to them? Because they are not human?

I just don't understand.

For the sake of argument, let us assume I am a rat masquerading as a human. I am puzzled with human behavior. What morality allows humans to feel they are divine above all other creatures? Is it not simply that they wish to justify their abuse of power? There is an old saying that "might is right." Is this the justification underlying humans rationalization for their poor behavior toward other species.

I have no doubt many will justify their behavior because of religious beliefs, but I find that a convenient answer bereft of true introspection.

What is different than the God of rats declaring humans insignificant, exploitable and without souls. That view is evidenced in much of rat behavior. We take what we can get, not unlike humans. Do we not have the same God?

For those tethered to literal reality, I am not really a rat, at least not in the physical sense. Undoubtedly my question will inspire some of you to think of me as a rat in a figurative way.

Jesus brought us information pertaining to that which exists beyond our event horizon. John 1:18: “No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.” (KJV)

Jesus asserted that “he that hath seen me hath seen the Father” And in John 10:30 he clarified this beyond equivocation when he said “I and my Father are one.”

That God has entered our time, space, matter dimension in order to reveal truth to us, a consequence now weighs upon us to believe truth.

We know from Rom 1:18 who will perish, for “the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;”

Rom 1:25 further describes those “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever.”

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already.

Did you know that Cleopatra vii changed her name temporarily when she married Augustus. She changed her name to "Mary" for "marriage". This was done frequently in ancient times to commemorate something that important happened. The Bible calls Jesus' mother 'Mary". She later changed it back and took Jesus to egypt for safety. Egypt is not a real safe place for Jews now. Jesus was not a Jew. He was Roman and Greek. The pope just lets you believe what you want too.

I mean seriously.
Religions has been holding the scientists back.
In the early ages, they were even executed under the name of "God" for "Satanic" activities. They said it's considered absurd and insulting towards god.
So ultimately, wouldn't this be all thanks to the scientists and scientists only?

There's going to be a retreat next month for the Youth Group at my church and I'm going to be one of the counselors. Our theme is "Lost and Found" and I need to find verses, passages, scriptures or parables (basically anything) that pertains to this theme. So far I found 3 parables, the lost sheep, lost coin and lost son. If anyone know anymore it would be great. It can be from the OT or the NT it doesn't really matter. Thank You!!

...there be legal abortions preformed in sterile, safe clinics by trained doctors where the posibiliby of the woman dieing is very small...

or

Have abortion be illegal and, as a result, have abortions preformed in back allys with diry coat hangers by people who porbably don't know what they're doing, putting the woman at great risk of death?

Because if you get rid of the first, you will have the second, there is no way around it.

What would you choose?

Not one said anything insulting or mean spirited in their answer.

There is so much diversity, but so much in common also.

I did not record any statistics regarding religion, race, marital status, education level, but in reading every word I noticed a trend,

while 2 or 3 of us might be very similar, the majority are different from everyone else.

But, everyone got along and no one was mean or insulting.

Why?

Was it cause the question was phrased respectful, and kind?

Was it because it was merely a request for information?

Why can't it be so simple with every question and answer in yahoo answers, respectful, without being mean or insulting?

Why can't that happen globally, where people of different races, religions, backgrounds, get along?

Why can't we all get along, like we did in that question?
