I just started reading that book two days ago. I'm about half way through. It's really interesting. It's a book that will upset deeply religious people, but if you are open to hearing the other side, you should check it out. Richard Dawkins is funny (or maybe he has funny friends to quote). There are some parts that are a little complex and hard to follow without more expertise in the subject area, but for the most part it's an easy read. Great info. Buy it, read it, enjoy it!
How come religious people always tell athiests to read the Bible, but they never concede and read books on the opposing side? (not all religious people, but most that I have come in contact with)

I think Mr Dawkins missed one valuable point. That regardless of whether or not a person believes in God,... an a--hole is born every minute and they dont need religion to justify their actions, its just one of many ideologies they'll kling to. And also, that there are people who practice more self controll because of their faith. I know myself personally, there would be a lot more things I would do if I didnt worry about eternal conciquences. I dont think religion causes violence, but that violent people will adhere to ( or create ) a religion that will allow for it, and there will be such people regardless of if "No one believed in God" but on the same token, it is the belief in God that prevents some people from harming others.

I wonder how many people spend an equal amount of time reading Pro-Christian works and Anti-Christian ones?
Our whole world is full of Anti-Christian works and our Radio and TV, even movies and magazines are full of Anti-Christian works.
Amazing that if one were to spend just 20 minutes a day reading the new testament, you can remain a strong Christian, even in this world.
Sorry, off the topic.
Peace!

Yes, I loved it. Dawkins has been accused of being arrogant; perhaps he is sometimes, but is he wrong? Must one apologize for being atheist? Is being religious a sufficient excude when causing harm? Dawkins is unapologetic as an atheist and unwielding in his logic.

I liked it, but I'm not sure how far it would go convincing a believer. But I'll try loaning it to a few and asking them what they thought.

Judging by the lame name of it I highly doubt I'd even waste my time.It sounds like a book written by ape-men that evolved from dinosaur crap.
