in the Oneness of God, not in three persons or entities making up the One God !!!

Islam believes in One God, ALLAH !!

Judaism believes in One God, YHWH !!

Each of these religions has its own set of

Scriptures, which is said by the religion to

be the ONLY Source of Truth, and that

their Scriptures ALONE contain God's words

written in them ?

Judaism teaches that The Truth is found in
YHWH, and in the Tanak, in the teachings of Abraham, and Moses.

Islam teaches that The Truth is found in the Holy
Qur'an, and in the teachings of Mohammad.

Christianity teaches that The Truth is Only found
in Jesus cause he said he is the way, truth, life.
And that only their bible holds the words of the truth of their three persons in One God: God The Father, God The Son (The Word, the bible - that became flesh = "Jesus"), and The Holy Spirit.

So what is my point: what god, and what set of Truth(s) is a person suppose to believe ?

No? Let me tell you...

Most biblical scholars and preachers readily admit that they know Christ was not born on December 25th. However, they claim that this day is as good as any other to celebrate the birth of Jesus, despite the fact that it was originally a pagan celebration called Saturnalia which commemorated the birth of the sun god.

Jesus’ Birthday has become a secular carnival of excess spending, waste, greed, and hypocrisy.

What ever happened to the inspirational Christmases of yesterday with their simple family gatherings, their moving church services, their pretty hand-made ornaments, and the spirit of giving to the less fortunate?

How could something so wonderful as the beautiful and miraculous birth of the Christchild in a rustic stable over two thousand years ago have turned into a festival of material lust?

If Jesus were born today, the Star of Bethlehem would not even be visible due to smog and light pollution. The stable owner would see a money making opportunity and would sell tickets to anyone wishing to see the Baby Jesus. Film makers would try to buy the rights to film Mary and Joseph as they fled to Egypt. Instead of receiving only a few simple gifts, Jesus would be inundated with gifts from companies hoping for endorsements of their products. The family would be put up in a big name hotel for the publicity it would bring, diaper companies would fight over who could provide Jesus with the biggest supply of diapers and Mary would be hounded by baby food manufacturers who would want her to report that Jesus preferred their brand of pabulum over another brand.

By God's grace, I'm assured that Jesus is my Shepherd, my Savior, and my Lord. But I have never been quite clear on the Holy Spirit: exactly who He is, what He does, how I can recognize His activity in my life--things like that. Why do you suppose the Lord in His earthly ministry didn't speak about the Holy Spirit in greater depth?
This has bothered me for quite some time and has even made me wonder occasionally whether I am truly born again, or just deceiving myself. Thanks.

No disrespectful or mean answers, please.
Thanks.

The third day seems to be the seventh when counting the days in John 1 and 2:1. If one day [is] as a thousand years, then the past two millenniums were perhaps the last days(plural), and perhaps it's now the last day(singular), the seventh day, the Sabbath having no mention of both evening and morning, eventually becoming an eternal day[light] having no darkness at all.

Just think about it. Christians obsess over Jesus and God and going to heaven just like the average person obsesses over his car or his iPod.

Christmas is a commercial holiday. Face it, its not even Jesus' birthday! (Christmas was originally a pagan celebration called Saturnalia which commemorated the birth of the sun god) Why do you need to spend so much money on your family and friends just to show them your love?!

Many Christians go to attractive, opulent churches, whereas a shabby and plain one would have done just fine.

And of course, there's the advertisement. More than half of my friends wear those diamond necklaces with the cross on them. Bling bling. Why not a plastic one? If they bold symbolize Christ, who cares what the necklace is made of?

Should I even mention Televangelists and the pope? They're only like 10293809128309128039 wealthier than Jesus ever was...no problem...

I'm puzzled by the claim that the things taught by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (aka: Mormons) contradicts the Bible. I'm LDS and I use both the Bible and the Book of Mormon. How can what we teach contradict the Bible when we use the Bible to teach it?

Wole Soyinka believes it is. In his view, the death of ideology in general, and communist ideology in particular has left a vacuum. Religion has moved in and with it fundamentalism and intolerance. As example, in his country, Nigeria, Muslims and Christians once got along peacefully. Now his country is filled with religious conflict. He said "Judaism, Christianity and Islam are completely soaked in intolerance." Is intolerance the root of dissension in the world, as he sees it? Are the major religions guilty of contributing to the problem?

how does one gain morals? If we never had the Bible or any other 'inspirational' book, how would one determine what is right and what is wrong? Is there 'natural' law?

If evolution means we are constantly evolving (bettering ourselves?) since millions and millions of years have gone by already shouldn't things like greed, gluttony, lust, envy etc. have gone the way of the dodo bird by now?

In the bible it says all sortsa things about not needing miracles etc to believe in God.

Many people claim to be "Jesus" in this day and age, so if jesus did really come to earth. Wouldn't you all want him to perform a miracle to prove it?? You wouldn't just believe anyone!!

waiting for the "you'll know if its really jesus" answer, but how? He was like a normal person when he was on earth before!
