Did not prophets have the ability to prophesy events? Mohammed never prophesied anything. So how is he a prophet?

Don't even think about what Ahad said. According to Judeo-Christian Theology (which whether Muslims like it or not, IS the basis for Islam), no human is without sin or temptation because it is an integral part of being human. Without sin and temptation, there can't be Free Will, and without Free Will we can't choose to go to God, IE, we are just automatons. Of course Mohammad sinned. There are numerous examples of this in the Koran. Does this necessarily mean he wasn't a Prophet??? No, all the prophets sinned. When Mainstream Muslim Theology can embrace this entire concept, and not just the parts they like, Islam can perhaps evolve into a Modern Religion with a Modern Ethical System.

No - prophets are people and the Bible says that no one is good, no one is without sin. Some prophets were called to live extra pious lives, but modern day prophets are just normal everyday people living normal lives. See Dutch Sheets and Chuck Pierce, 2 very highly respected prophets of today. God can speak through whomever He chooses. The person that is in the right place at the right time can become a vessel.
----- And to the person who thinks prophecy is the ability to predict --- actually a prophet is simply a person that God uses to speak a message to His people. Often pointing out sin and calling for repentance. Foretelling the future happens too, but in a way of , shape up or this will happen, or , if you pray, I'll do this.

On the contrary. Some Prophets like Isaiah would not accept to be God's messenger since he said His mouth is unclean and he came from a family of unclean mouth. meaning he was used to cursing, swearing and uttering foul languages.
David was an adulterous king that even planned to have one of his loyal subject killed in a battle to gain the soldier's wife Bathsheba.
God normally would look at someone who can deliver His messages and there are some pious persons in the world that cannot do the work because they lack courage or strength to carry out and face the consequences of speaking for God.
Samuel was brave enough to cut off the head of a king when Saul would not want to follow God's order not to spare anyone they captured including the captives livestock, wives and children.

the answer is no.
All the prophets had problems and sinned greatly but they chose to keep searching for God.
Solomon had 1,000 wives and neglected most of his duties yet God made him the wisest man who ever lived.
David commited adultery yet God refers to him as a man after God's own heart
Abraham was a liar yet God called him friend.
No one is perfect even Christians. That's why we need Christ. To help us.

Naah. According to Christianity no one but Jesus has ever been without sin. The rest have just been a lot of bumbling mortals. My favorite OT prophet is Jonah.

Well, there is such a thing as a false prophet. I believe that applies to this case according to the description. That said, some prophets left off serving God and began to follow their own way and speak their own words for financial gain or other reasons and to claim "Thus saith the Lord".
Some indicators of false prophets;
1)"Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets." Luke 6:26
2)(Jer 14:14 KJV) Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.
3)(Jer 23:32 KJV) Behold, I am against them that prophesy false dreams, saith the LORD, and do tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their lightness; yet I sent them not, nor commanded them: therefore they shall not profit this people at all, saith the LORD.
4)(Jer 28:11 KJV) And Hananiah spake in the presence of all the people, saying, Thus saith the LORD; Even so will I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from the neck of all nations within the space of two full years. And the prophet Jeremiah went his way.
5)(Mat 24:11 KJV) And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
6)(2 Pet 2:1 KJV) But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
You notice this last verse says "denying the Lord that bought them" referring to Jesus Christ and His blood atonement for sins as the Messiah, Savior of the world. Any doctrine which contradicts the Word of God, the spirit of truth, Jesus Christ who came in the flesh and was the Word in the flesh, if it goes against His spirit, His Priesthood, His Deity, His virgin birth, sinless life, death, burial and resurrection, then it is of the anti-Christ spirit and not of God.
Muslims descended from Ishmael. The covenant promise came down through Isaac. There's been warring and jealousy ever since. The fact is, they have the same inheritance rights we all do, we who were "aliens to the commonwealth of Israel", if they would only recognize it; " 11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:
13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father." Ephesians 2 Holy Bible KJV
