I know that, even though Muslims disagree with me as to the God they worship, they are respectful of my God. I mean, they have to say pbuh after Jesus' name.
(This is what I have seen online that I think is good)
They have some good beliefs. Everything is Allah's will. That is a great belief.
It's the intentions of the people (not what they actually did, if they hurt you) that matters.
Aren't they not allowed to smoke or drink? I think that is good too. Drugs and alcohol just mess up your thinking and your life.
The biggest thing that I have learned from Islam (even though I am not a Muslim) is the proof of God's existence. They say to look around you, look at the world. Where did all this come from? I mean, seasons, molecules, all the things in chemistry, physics, biology, just look at it! The human brain, the human body I think is amazing. Where did it come from? And if that doesn't amaze you, just think about where did ANYTHING come from? If we came from apes, where did they come from, and so on and so on.
Sorry for all this writing, but it is not a bad religion like people tend to think.
**one last thing: Muslims believe in the virgin birth of Jesus.

Well Islam is Arabic for submission to God. I've talk to a few muslims concerning their religion and they've said that Islam is a continuation of the of Judeo-Christian Faiths. They said that the Quran is sort of like a "3rd Testament" after the Bible's Old and New Testaments. Yes, Muslims believe in Jesus.. But in my opinion, not the same Jesus that Christians believe. Muslims, I've heard, believe that Jesus was not the Son of God (which is the central doctrine of the Christian faith) but that he was a great prophet. They also believe that he didn't die on the cross (another central Christian Doctrine) but the person who died on the cross wasn't Jesus, but some other man who looked like him. They also believe that Jesus will return in the end times, but only to tell the world that he's not the son of God and to propogate Islam (once again another direct opposite of the Christian faith). It's interesting to note how Islam was started. It's beginnings is marked with great violence and it's followers were lead by the sword (Look up Islam at Yahoo! Education). Anyway no offense intended to Muslims on anything written.
Here's an interesting thought:
Muslims believe Jesus will return and say he's not the Son of God and tell the world that Islam is the way.
Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that the spirit of "antichrist" denies that Jesus is the Son of God.
Read these verses to see for yourself:
1 John 2:18, 22-23
18Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
22Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
23Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
So, with this being said. It's possible that out of the Muslim faith could arise the Christian's "Antichrist."
Keep in mind, the New Testament and Jesus Christ came about during the 1st Century and Islam came later at about the 6th and 7th Century. This means the Quran was written 600 to 700 years after the New Testament of the Christian Bible.
I'm not against Muslims, but I'm for the truth and the truth shall make you free.

Islam is a very misunderstood religion, I believe that there are a lot of people reading this post and out there who might learn more about Islam and maybe become muslims if they read more about Islam from RELIABLE sources. Sadly, most of the books and articles nowadays are a copy of the western media which is absolutely biased againt Islam and muslims.
I'll give space for non-muslims to answer this question. I just want to sat that if we want to know the truth about Islam, then we need to study up.
This Islamic guide is for those who would like to understand Islam, Muslims, and the Holy Quran. It is rich in information, references, bibliography, and illustrations. It has been reviewed and edited by many professors and well-educated people. It is brief and simple to read, yet contains much scientific knowledge. It contains the whole book, A Brief Illustrated Guide to Understanding Islam, and more.

I know enough, some might say a lot about Islam.
I don't have the time, nor you have the time to read all that I know about Islam. Maybe I know about it more than you.
Yes, I know Ikrah. means read.
Yes I have read the Quran, and studied it directly from Muslim teachers.

You ask others a question about Islam, the very least you can do is to say peace to them. the very least.
Peace to You, one and ALL, no matter what is your religous belief. Including you, muslim and proud.
Additional Details
Thank You so Very Much. For the Peace to ALL.
It start with the thought, and the well will follow. Peace to You and ALL.

I know that the Muslim is admonished to slit the throats of the unbelievers:
Quran Sura 47:4: "Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly (on them): thereafter (is the time for) either generosity or ransom: Until the war lays down its burdens. Thus (are ye commanded): but if it had been Allah's Will, He could certainly have exacted retribution from them (Himself); but (He lets you fight) in order to test you, some with others."
No problem if the Muslim kills himself in the process. The Quran continues, "And those who are slain in the way of Allah, He rendereth not their actions vain."

I don't like to take other people's opinions on a matter; I prefer to search out the truth and think for myself. I know that Islam was founded by Muhammad who was born about 570AD to a poor family. His mother died when he was young and he was prone to having seizures when he got his "revelations" from Allah. I know that Allah was the moon god worshiped by the Meccans in Muhammad's family (his father's name was Abd-Allah and his uncle's name was Obied-Allah). I know that even though the Qur'an allows a man to have no more than four wives, Muhammad had 15 wives at once thus not practicing what he preached. I know that Muhammad never ascended into heaven (a fable that tries to make him equal with Jesus). Islamic history actually teaches that he died unexpectedly in 632 and he never named a successor (which led to civil war). I've researched the cultural aspects of Islam and befriended and discussed the religion with many Muslims over the years.... and so forth and so on. I think it is only fair to study a religion before you decide to take it or leave it.

I know something due to the links Muslims and others post here, which I don't have to post. But according to "The Qur'an and Modern Science" by Dr. Maurice Bucaille, Allah miraculously revealed to Mohamed the fact that sperm fertilizes the egg and causes pregnancy. Muslims think this proves the science of the Qu'ran.
I also saw a video of a Muslim woman teaching a small child to say that Jews are pigs.
I saw the video a hostage being beheaded.
These videos were not "lies" by the western press, they were put out by Muslims themselves.
As far as radical Islam, I don't think a Muslim can remain neutral about it.
Islam is their state religion, and I believe every Muslim would support their state and its religion no matter how violent.
I have seen here Muslims justify the cutting off of hands and feet because it deters crime.
Mohamed was a man of war, whereas Jesus was a man of peace.

A young man Emailed me yesterday and asked me the same question in relation to Christianity.
I am lucky because I attended a Christian High school and studied the subject in detail at University. However, very many Muslims; especially those who live in Eastern countries know very little about Jesus and Christianity. So, we are in the same boat. Christians and Muslims would get along fine if we both learn the truth about both faiths....instead of attacking each other on petty inaccuracies.

It's really a sheep that's been forced to wear wolf's clothing, so to speak. It's just as good as any of the other major faiths, it's just been subject to fanaticism that has completely tainted the world's view on it.
Islam is a very spiritual faith, and they Muslims have to pay charity (zakat?), do the hajj, pray 5 times a day, and i forgot what the other two pillars of faith are. :-/
I'm hoping to read the Qu'ran one day.

Quite a bit sister but still there is always plenty more to learn. I am sure everyday of my life i will learn more of our glorious faith. I do understand your question though. It is very tiring to hear people who have no true knowledge of Islam to repeat stereotypes, hearsay and misquotes. But what can you do? If i see these questions i give them the fullest answer with the knowledge i have and hope that someones opinion will be changed. If not its no skin of my nose. Allah opens the hearts to Islam whom he wants and closes the hearts to those he does not. Regardless of what anyone says Muslims know the truth and Allah knows the truth and Insha Allah sister when we speak of Islam we are doing so with the fullest knowledge we have and open hearts. Peace to you.
