I am a Christian. I believe Jesus walked on this earth and died for our sins.

I do not believe there are flaws in Christianity. I believe there are many flaws in mankind. Mankind twists the truth.

Hi Juli,
My wife and I are both Christians. We believe that every part of the BIBLE is written from GOD's INspired WORD. The New Testament was written as our guide for living since Christ was taken into Heaven to sit on GOD's Right Hand. HE is awaiting the Judgment and will return when GOD has decided. I see no flaws in Christianity. The only flaws are in the Christians. Our preacher says that we are "cracked pots" for "All have sinned and fall short of the Glory of GOD." We all have flaws and need GOD's healing hand. Some completly ignore parts of the New Testament because they have an agenda that they want to keep. Have a great evening.

I'm ex-Roman Catholic.
I started thinking about religion as I got older and started to form my own mind. I found that religion seemed to be there because without God our lives had no purpose, the universe made no sense FOR US. That was not reason enough for me to maintain a dogged belief in God as layed out by the church. I realised that wishful thinking does not make God real.
The only thing I could be sure of is that THE UNIVERSE put me here. Another thing I could be sure of is that I have a consciousness and that too is a product of the universe. This lead me to ponder if there is some 'universal consciousness' that we are all connected to and that maybe we are 'windows into the universe' through which that universal consciousness can look out – a way for the universe to see itself...
Maybe that's what God is, I don't know!
I DO know that the writings of self-serving MEN is NOT the final word on truth and the trouble with Christians and most other organised religions is that they read those books and believe that they are the word of God without realising they are the word of MAN.
Having said that, I believe that everyone has the right to BELIEVE WHAT THEY WANT without being persecuted for it.

PEACE.

i hope this is a serious question cause i'm about to partially explain why i am the way i am. I believe in god and i am a christian because i believe that God is the only possible way that the earth was created and i will explain this as well. first off: The Big Bang!!!- wow what a conclusion, number one reason is this, when has a BIG BANG ever caused harmony, order, or beauty or anything else that the earth has? do u think it could have created a rose? a sunset? here's one: a living soul?now let's drop a bomb on america and see if in ten thousand years there is life here that just suddenly pops into existence huh? second: i walk by faith and not by sight just like the bible says. most non-christians say that just cause they don't believe, that there is no god. now let me ask u this just cause someone walks into oncoming traffic witha semi coming at them and doesn't believe that it's there does the semi just go away? let me know how i did with this answer and whether or not it was what u are lookin for!! bye and god bless u.

Are you a Christain? No.

Y or y not? I read the bible, and looked at the history of the religion. and decided that i could not worship that god.

Are you some part of another religion? Yes.

Y or y not? because i have always believed in a higher power, and the Pantheons of the Celtic Pagan gods make sense to me.

and what do u think are flaws in Christianity. (I am a Christian if you might be wondering)

well this is a loaded part of the question. and i will attempt to answer with as much respect as i can. it is hard to talk about flaws in something without comming off as hostile.

1, I feel that the idea of hell is a threat from god. worship me or go to this horrible place to burn for an eternity. this bothers me because it clearly is a fear tactic used to garner worship and obiedience.

2, the Violence of the old testiment, and the very idea that it is ok to kill people and take their land. just as long as god tells you that it is ok.

3, the Single path to salvation. it is all well and good that that is your belief. but many Chrsitians need to remember that many religions are older and have been around longer. and that many people have their own path to a peacful afterlife. the idea that you are the only ones taht are right, and the belief that that gives you the right to force your religion onto everyone else really buggs me.

4, the pick and choose bible. This is the word of god and is irrefutable. BUT this part that applies to all of us is clearly a parable that does not need to be folllowed. but this part that applies to everyone else is clearly the word of god and must be followed to the letter.

5, the fact that many accept and adopt Pagan traditions as their own, and then try to claim that it has simply always been that way.

6, the persecution complex. you cannot be persecuted, you are the majority. people that think that they are being persecuted because there are laws to stop them from persecuting others.

Are you a Christain? Y or y not?
Yep.
Are you some part of another religion? Y or y not?
Christianity is complete. There is no need.

And what do u think are flaws in Christianity. (I am a Christian if you might be wondering)

People in the past have done things in the name of Christianity that still haunt us. The Crusades and the Inquistion...even though done by Roman Catholics...taint all Christians.

I think worst thing right now is Christians don't study Apologetics. If they did, they could end a lot of the misconceptions that people have about Christians (I know I had them).

More Christians need to apply the things need to apply the teachings, not just merely claim to be Christians. If everyone who claimed to be a Christian truly behaved as one, the world would be a much nicer place. Imagine if we all strived to be like Mother Teresa or Corrie Ten Boom! I've been mistreated by other people claiming to be Christians myself, but I know in those cases, it was failure on the part of the individuals involved, not failure of the religion.

I am a christian. I believe in God because I can't believe this planet, the universe, etc. is all the result of "the big bang". It had to have been created.

What is wrong with christianity? There are too many christians who believe their purspose on earth is to make themselves a lot of money while members of their flock are living paycheck to paycheck or in many cases are homeless. Get real, if all the christian evangelists in the world started treating themselves and their flock as the bible teaches them to do this would be a better off world.

One question I would love to ask some of these rich evangelists including the Pope is, "If God came to earth and asked you personally 'How do you justfify your fancy clothes, big house or mansion, your expensive cars, etc. while there are a lot of fellow christians living without?" That is one question I would love to hear the answer to.

Yes, Christian Orthodox. Although C.Orthodoxes represent 98% of the population here, and have been so for almost 2 milleniums, I still have to point out that nowadays religion represents more of a business than a set of veridic beliefs. People go to church in fewer numbers than before, and when they do, they are usually disappointed in the commercial side of the Church. I don't know about you, but I have had enough of bogus healers, bogus saints, charges for anything (from funeral service to prayers), tv preachers howling, pedophilia scandals, priests serving communist/totalitarian intelligence, priests getting drunk, asking for bribe, etc.etc.etc. This is all that I lately heard about religion and priests in my side of the world. How about the rest of you? (PS: All these are only a few examples of "news" from the past 6 months, concerning ALL Christian religions, that have come to my attention)

No.
Because I found it impossible to go on believing in the literal truth of Christianity after I realized how incredibly outlandish it all is.

No.
I find the claims of other religions to be equally outlandish as Christianity.

That's not to say I don't believe in anything, I just don't believe in anything supernatural. I believe in lots of things: humility, ethical behavior, truth, love, unity, compassion...

Other than being incredibly unlikely, I don't think that it helps people live better or happier lives. In fact, in many cases, it is an obstacle to happiness and health. What I want, and what I think a lot of other people want, is a better understanding of myself, my life, and the world. Christianity does a good job of keeping people from gaining that kind of understanding.

That said, I think that there is a lot of value in religion, when it is understood as a metaphor for something that is impossible to explain outright. Unfortunately, few people are able to do this. Instead, they get caught up in the metaphor, and miss the point entirely.

Yes, I am proud to say I am a Christian. I believe that God sent His only Son so that we would have the ability to be saved and go to Heaven. Why am I a Christian? Not only do I just believe, but I have also seen God working in not only my life, but my loved ones and friends' lives as well. I think the only "flaw" would be that not enough people study the Bible. In Christ however, there is no flaws.
