There is one sin in the bible that confuses me, that is related to the catholic faith.(Exodus Chapter 20 verse 4) Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.I've been to a catholic church once and all I see is a building filled with graven images of Gold and priests carrying graven images dressed in fine linen. Was it suppose to be ONLY the word and through our spirits that we believed in Christ and not praying to graven images. If you are a catholic give me an opinion on this.

I’m a Muslim myself but don’t understand other Muslims that go crazy when someone gives a negative comment or opinion against the religion. Like the Pope quoted some text and the Pakistani's went Mental. Its a free world everyone has an opinion.

Does this statement sound horrible to anyone else? Does anyone agree that the Dali Lama will burn in Gehenna? The lady also told me Ghandi would go to hell. The lady then told me NO sin can enter heaven. Does this mean that no good can enter hell? If so Where does all the internal goodness within people of other creeds go? Also doesn't the fact that sin can't enter heaven imply that free will doe not exist within the afterlife?

The world, of course, was not created. It is simply the result of favorable conditions in the universe that made the planet Earth capable of producing life forms, evolve, and make us and our cultures the way we are. Some people think this is exactly how God planned things to be. He is omnipotent, omniscient, and nothing could possibly have escaped His long range thinking. So here we are. If you were such a super-powerful being, would you have made the world and all there is in it just as it is?

i realize that we're smarter, more aware, and have higher goals in life than to get into "heaven". why is it so important that you post these ignorant questions trying to prove an athiest wrong. you guys should know by now you can't win an argument with an athiest.

I am an observant Jew, and I follow all the halachos, (Jewish laws) but I am plagued by doubt. No religion has any real proof, but a G-dless existence is simply too empty, and I need meaning in my life. How can I be sure I am believing in the right G-d, and that there is one at all? How can I know that I am doing the right things every day of my life? Besides for following the Torah, (Bible) I try very hard to be a good person, and treat others as I would like to be treated. Can someone help me?

(This is a serious question, looking for serious answers.)

Where in the Bible, is homosexuality openly accepted? I don't mean alluded to, or hinted at; I mean, outright 'approved of' homosexuality.
