Given the way in which imams in the UK are preaching a version of Islam that is medieval and detrimental to tolerance, and the equality of women and the notion of Jihad. Should Christians, Hindus, Jews etc view this religion as a cancer that is a danger to the democratic way we want to live.
Given that muslims seem to want to be viewed as special and not obey the laws of the land?? Should this cancer be excised from the West or tolerated??

do you not realize that sodom and gomorrah was destroyed for their pride in homosexualities and degredation of their actions? even if you dont believe in GOD, just the possibility that there is one dosent scare you? we ask for forgiveness and get forgiven, yet as JESUS told the adultress to go, because she is forgiven, he tells to sin no longer! not keep on doing what she will and ask for forgiveness again. i mean come on, if your child tells you theyre contrite for their actions you expect them to not do the acts again...right? why should it be different for GOD who is more intolerant of sin than we are

Ive read it several times here. How many of you are Christian, but dont subsribe to a denominationl religion? And why?

I'll go first.I am a Christian, but do not subscribe to any organized religion, due to the fact I think most of them have become based around man and his interpretation of God, not actually around God.

I've said this before in response to other questions. I respect your right to believe, even if I don't respect your beliefs. But if you're trying to convince someone that your beliefs are worthy of their respect, what arguments would you use apart from "It's what I believe"?

I mean, if I told you I believed that the holocaust never happened (I don't believe this btw) would you respect such a belief? Would you respect my right to hold such a belief?

Based on current law in the Criminal Code of Canada, if I were to speak publicly or try to publish a book espusing such beliefs, I could be prosecuted.

So the question is, why is religious belief held to be more sacred than non-religious belief in terms of receiving respect?

A young reporter went to interview him and asked,
"Sir, how is it you lived to be 125?"
And the old man said, "Well son, I just never did argue with nobody!"
And the young man said, "Aw come on! It had to be something else! Either
you ate right, or you never drank, or never smoked! It had to be something
else?"
And the old man just looked at him and said, "You're probably right!"

My dog (Sugar) of 15 years died 5 months ago. In the first two weeks I would still hear her wimper to come in at the back door where her doghouse sits. I would open the door, nothing. It happened several times.

Now, last night I was laying on the sofa watching TV and where my dogs bed used to lay (near my head) I heard her snoring just like she used to do when she slept there.

She comes back to visit me when I think of her. Has this happened to you?

Hi, first of all I would really like only Jews to answer this question, because they will show me the good side of Judaism. I want to learn about Judaism ...... basics at least - beliefs, traditions, code of living. Ok, now, don't pump my head with too many data please. I would really like to hear something in your own words.

Ok, the presentation begins LOL

I ask this out of respect, and please no nasty comments.

Thanks in advance! Peace and blessings :)

Religions, Church Buildings, and denominations are man-made. Many are confused when Christians from different denominations have conflicting views. Or they are surprised when they enter a church, and discover that everyone is not perfect. I believe the problem is that many are confusing the church and religion, with having a relationship with God. One can claim a specific doctrine or denomination, and attend church five days a week, but if they are spiritually immature, and do not understand what it means to dwell in Christ, they will be lost. I'd like to know how other Christians feel about this?

Just curious as to whether or not how many Christians out there have fully read the Bible. Doesn't matter to me if you have or haven't, just wondering.

Also wondering what denomination you are if you have(ie: are you Catholic, Baptist, Episcopalian, Mormon, etc) and which version(or versions, if you've read more than one) you've read.

My best friend is having hers, and she said that I have to go up during her service to light a candle. I'm not Jewish, and I don't speak Hebrew. So how will I know when to go up? Do they say something in Hebrew and THEN I go up, or do they say something like "Now Rachels friend will light the candle."

That caused you do think people of an opposing religious view are intolerant/hateful/insensitive/stupid? Whether its SOME atheists calling all Christians intolerant, or some Christians calling all atheists stupid, what happened that gave you that idea? Was it one incident or many?

Both sides generalize WAY to often, and its becoming irritating. Surely you cant possibly know ALL of one group acts in a certain way, so why do you act as if you do?
