Religions, Church Buildings, and denominations are man-made. Many are confused when Christians from different denominations have conflicting views. Or they are surprised when they enter a church, and discover that everyone is not perfect. I believe the problem is that many are confusing the church and religion, with having a relationship with God. One can claim a specific doctrine or denomination, and attend church five days a week, but if they are spiritually immature, and do not understand what it means to dwell in Christ, they will be lost. I'd like to know how other Christians feel about this?

Correct!
Church membership is not being part of the body of Christ!
Gathering together, is both a duty and privilege, though.
The word church became adopted because the local church bodies started building these things in a quasi-attempt to (wrongly) bring the temple/synagogue ideal into Christianity and for purposes of separation, where they were unfettered by the rules and regulations of the owners of the buildings that were previously used. they were the church's and soon they were simply known as churches.
The Bible teaches that We (believers) are the living stones that build his church body, and no amount of worldly of fleshly work will transcend into that membership.

I was raised in church and attended every day until I was 21. I still went sporadically until I was 25. But all those Sundays warming the pew didn't save me. I was saved at 25 and now the buildings and denominations just enhance my knowledge and help my growth in Christ.

I think I know what you are saying but, think about this, suppose everything was to work the way our Lord intended it to? I do not think just because people do not act like we think they are suppose to act negates the very real Commandment about assembly.

People say "I do not believe in organized religion", because they do not like the people involved? I think it is something a little more because originally God himself organized his Jewish religion. The people did not out of the blue think well, I have to build this tent and then do this or do that. This was all on the order from God. I for one think that if God says to do something maybe I should do it.

The truth is you need a personal relationship with Jesus to be saved. There is nothing you can do on your own, such as attend church, to save yourself. There are no amount of good works that will save you. It doesn't have to do with being spritually mature, even babes in Christ are saved. It has to do with whether or not you believe that Christ death and resurrection were enough. It is a free gift you can't earn it.

Finally a christian that makes some sense. Religions and the church are just money making enterprises and have little to do with a relationship to God.

Friend, that is something I have told people all my Christian life for the last 36 yrs. There is a difference between Salvation & religion. I am glad to see that you see it the way I do. Relgion can send someone to Hell, But salvation will not.

I'm not a Christian but I totally agree. Religions, as a whole, are man-made and your relationship with God is your own, individual view, untainted by services, creeds etc. Everything is perceived differently, depending on who you are.
Good luck on your spiritual path,
