Is no one else disturbed that there are references to God in a disrespectful way. Why would God's own book speak that way?

Psalm 78:65"Then the Lord awoke as from sleep, as a man wakes up from the stupor of wine

Psalm 44:23 ""Awake O Lord,Why do you sleep? Rouse yourself"
(as if God can sleep or have a hangover)

"then know that God has wronged me and drawn his net around me"Job 19

"Smoke rose from God's nostrils, consuming fire came from His mouth" 2 Samuel 22 (God doesnt have a temper to display his anger this way, this give God the same characteristics that are not good in humans"

"Your name will no longer be Jacob but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with men, and have overcome"Genesis32(can a man fight with God and win?)

"and God rode upon a cherub and did fly"(2 Samuel 22:11)

Id like to think that the book of God speaks of Him as something above acts that in humans are not favored-being drunk, fighting with man, having a temper, being unjust

ive been a good and moral person all my life, but ive hurt some people along the way, specifically in relationships, and basically now i cant seem to find a stable relationship which before was so easy to find. Is it god that is "punishing" me for my previous endeavours and errors in life which i regret doing, and if so do i knee down and ask for forgiveness from him for making stupid mistakes with my love life? or do i keep my head up and tell myself that it is not time for love and that love will come sometime in the future(being optimistic). What do you think?(everyone is free to share what they feel)

a grey bearded man in the sky, who lived here for a time and then replaced himself with us, who now sits up in the sky, looking down on us, watching, registering the scores on his laptop as to whether we are in compliance with his rules or not; waiting until we die to either reward us with eternal bliss or punish us with an eternity of suffering? These are very bizzare beliefs, but it was the image handed to me and many others for the nine years i was in a catholic school and for the four years i served as an altar boy; in those days noone wanted to answer my existential questions about the nature of reality, i was encouraged to believe what i was taught rather than encouraged to decide for myself. Don't get me wrong, I am thankful for starting out with an organized religion; i found it to be a useful stepping stone to get to the next level of spirituality.

When an Atheist sends a Christian Bible verses, to encourage the Christian to stay alive, because the Christian is thinking about suicide, is the Atheist in rebellion against God?

On ward Christian solider, onward to save the souls of those Atheists, bring that Bible to your spiritual warfare.

Do you think the Atheist, who shares the Bible with the Christian who wants to die, to take his own life, needs saving?

Salaam. I just turned eighteen early this month. I'm still in high school and live with my mom (parents are non-muslims). I have two jobs. Do i pay zakat, and if so, how?

I know it's 2.5% of income, but do i include the money in my bank account from before the jobs (if so, do i minus the interest?)? Who do i pay it to?

Also, what is the opinion of donating to Christian charity organizations? I assume that it's ok so long as the proceeds go to helping people who live in poverty, and not to making the church people rich (and how do i know for sure?).

are so rude when others ask sincere questions about the bible? Some have stated "get their facts straight" in reference to certain questions. Don't they realize some people's facts aren't straight, hence they are asking questions? I have found Jehovah's Witnesses to be quite rude. I thought they were supposed to be understanding, and help those of us who lack bible knowledge?

If one were to believe that Jesus is the only way into Heaven, then wouldn't He (the trinity) then codemn the executed Jews to eternal damnation for not accepting Jesus? Out of the frying pan (Auschwitz) and into the fire (Hell)?

What is your definition of free will? Do you believe it exists? I can tell you the answer from the knowledge I have gain in my studies, but what fun would it be to arrogantly answer my own question? Hah what the heck.

Anyway, free will exist in a differ context than what people know it to be. First of all, there is no one singular soul, I, or self that hits the execute button in our brains. A singular ‘self’ is actually an illusion the brain works hard to create; we are so much more complex than that.

One study actually found that the conscious is aware of a decision only after it has been made, half of a second later. Do some research and then answer my question. But I guess that much studying can't be done in one night into the mechanisms and processes of the human brain

Try http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_will for some quick info if you like.

I recently, just a few weekends ago, visited the Trinity Site. It really struck me how all of the visitors to the site had a reverent attitude while visiting ground zero. I also had to own a piece of that history so I purchased a sample of Trintiet from a friend who runs a Rock and Mineral site nearby. Ok so now I am going to open myself up for it, do you think I'm wiered for my thoughts about the site and owning a piece of history?
