Hey. Im a Christian and love God. I have been reading about Buddhism and really like the way Budda taught and do not think he tried to make himself a god. I was wondering is it possible to be both.
I have heard that Buddhism is not a religion but a philosophy. I Also want to know what other Christians would think if I would follow a buddist philosophy as well.

There are many references in the Qu'ran to the killing of other people in the name of Allah. Like the Bible, which also has murder in it, I believe there is a context. Can anyone tell me in what contect they believe these versus in the Qu'ran refer?
I don't want to jump to conclusions, and am hoping to clearly understand the context of the Qu'ran.
Many thanks for sincere answers.

It is mentioned in the Gospel of Mark, Ch. No.16, Verse No.17 and 18 - It says that… ‘There will be signs for true believers and among the signs - In my name they shall cast out devils, they shall speak foreign tongues, new tongues, they shall take up serpents - And if they drink deadly poison, they shall not be harmed - And when they place their hand over the sick, they shall be cured.’ This is a scientific test - In scientific terminology, it is known as the ‘confirmatory test’ for a true Christian believer. And in scientific terminology, this is also called as the ‘falsification test’ That means if a false person tries and does this test… takes poison, he will die.Im sure no one could prove tht he is a true christian believer...as this unscientific ...and also these r not god words...how many of u can prove tht it is god words by taking this test...?

With all of the cultural and religious challenges which face us today, is there still any way to think and act ethically?

"Two young virgins willing to be the brides of Satan and to have an affair with the Christ.” Being wed to the representation of everything evil was to them utterly abhorrent yet they were willing to make the most extreme of sacrifices for the good of their people. What does it mean? If it is a prophecy, then how can it possibly come to pass?

An employee has been forced to go on "unpaid leave " over a row concerning the banning of her wearing a cross an chain around her neck in view. The BA statement also said that other forms of religious symbols such as the Turban etc were ok because they couldn't be covered! Views please?

you know the ones, mostly outside oxford tube station with a megaphone or amplifier, talking complete rubbish that no one listens to. When will they stop, why do they bother and would it be ok to punch one of them in the head? I saw one yesterday day in oxford street about midday, then about 11.30 at night he was handing out god leaflets in tottenham court road, if this was a muslim chap doing the same thing he would have been beat up or moved on by the police.

It just seems that if you say something bad about jews you get attacked by the jews. I can make fun of anyone with very little challenge but make fun of a jew and you are in trouble. A good example is the news with keith O. He makes fun of Scientology and Tom C. but when Mel gets drunk and spews about the jews Keith O. jumps all over him night in and Night out. I see this as true all over the TV , Am I the only one who see's this?
Sorry about the poor spelling.

I think the question is pretty much self explanatory.

1. Whats the point in praying if God already knows our every thought, action, needs, wants, worries and deepest desires. Wouldn't he already know?
2. If he already knows what we need than why doesn't he just give it to us? (not trying to sound greedy!)
3. Is it normal to talk to a voice inside your head and refer to them as God, or is that just one of your inner children?
4. How much power does prayer have? If it was so wonderful, than why are there still so many wars, people living in famine and fear and people suffering? Surely Jesus's follwers faith would be enough!?

I have been reading a lot of questions in here and also on the news and other sites on the internet and I was wondering why do people condem other religions other than their own? Why do they feel the need to say their religion is better than someone elses? Why can't people just deal with the fact that there are other religions in the world and we have free will to decide which one we want to follow?
