If they "gave into temptation" then why is it that I as a straight woman have never been tempted to be with another woman?

Why are some people tempted to love their own sex and others are not if gay people are supposedly born to be attracted to the opposite sex?

...rationalizing because not only does scripture not provide answers, it doesn't even support the answers you're giving?

And the alternative? That the god of scripture is -not- a god of love, is too frightening for you to consider?

Couldn't Jesus have been a man who understood Love, and used the concepts and terminology his people understood to try and convey an understanding of Love that was alien to the god they worshipped?

I know, your eyes are glazing over and knee-jerk devotion to -religion- (not Love, not what Jesus taught, but religion) will provoke denial and quotes from scripture. But every question I've asked denies any belief that the scriptural "God is Love".

Do none of you have the faintest doubt that scripture god could be a god of love? Do you not see how those of us who are not Christian have doubts because you cannot agree on an answer for these challenges? Do you not see that even your own scripture does not agree with your answers?

Do we really have a purpose or are we just fooling ourselves with religion because we dont have answers to the COMPLEX questions of our existence?

OK, what if God want you to follow him because he loves you but there is no reward such as heaven and no punishment such as hell. My Question really is that do you believe because deep inside you are a really good person and really feel your God's love, or is it because you think being good gain you an entry into heaven or in case there is a hell? Will you still be a strong beliver if it is just an option to be with God but you will never get rewarded or punish if you choose to not to follow God?
Basically, will you choose to leave God if he doesn't provide anything to you at all?

Creationism: If Noah's flood took place 4,500 years ago and there were just 8 people on board, estimate how many children would each person have to have to reach the current population of 6,446,131,400 (July 2005 est.) people?

Old timey Mormons allowed this, but the religon has changed in the last 50 years or so to make it mainstream. I heard that Islam allows polygamy.

Do any allow one woman and two men?

this is not a religious question, so please do not state your beliefs here.

I am writing a paper. I would like to know which is supposed to have come first (I mean, which story was told first, if you know): the Norse creation myth or the creation myth in Genesis?

Again, this is not a religious question, really--i would just like to know what I asked, not what your religious beliefs are. Also, thank you for your interest but please only answer if you know.

If you were to put the feeling into ONE word, how do you feel when answering or asking questions in this forum? Please be honest. I don't care what the answer is... only that it's honest. I'm doing a study and it matters a great deal to me how you feel WHILE answering or asking questions here..

Thank you in advance.

I had to pass a religious test at a job interview recently...

I told them I believed in Jesus

one person wouldn't let it sit and kept asking questions..

turns out they must all believe in same Brother/Sister in Christ stuff to be employees...they effectively mixed god and job and used the religion as a trust issue or bond

so what are good jobs for athiests?

(by the way, they disqualified me with this one...if you died today, do you know you will be in heaven? I said "no" I may believe, but I can't know until there. They did agree I couldn't just believe to work but must produce work to get paid, though and I think it ended at a stalemate of new thought and no reason to argue...)
