Man called God, God. He called Himself, "I am," "Alpha and Omega," "The Lord your God." We just shortened it to God... and about a dozen other names of equal reverence.

When someone is brave enough to try to attempt to prove to me that god exist. When I ask that question they always answer by saying, "no one god is god no one had to name him". Which I then say "So god just magically appeared one day and there was no life before him?" some of them reply by saying "yes because he is God and he is that powerful." others will say things like " God never walked the earth he is above the earth and god was the beginning of life."
So good luck trying to get any other answer that is not along the lines of ones like the ones I get.

There was no one before God. God has always existed. God named Himself. He always was, is now and always will be. It's not something that our human minds can comprehend. We must take it on faith. He is the Great I Am. The Almighty. The Everlasting Father. The Prince of Peace.

If I am not mistaken, I believe it was God Himself who revealed His name to us. I recall reading this somewhere in the Bible. I hope someone who knows the answer that is correct will tell you this one. - Chris.
