The Archangel Lucifer (now called Satan), rebelled against the authority of God, He called to his aid a legion of similar thinkers.
On God's behalf, the Archangel Michael fought against Lucifer and won.
A special place was created for the rebels, named Hades (Hell), where they were condemned to stay until they once more proved worthy of re-entering a state of grace.
The Gates of Hell remained closed for 1,000 years.
The Archangel Michael still stands guard at the Gates of Hell, to ensure peace prevails.
It is believed by some that mankind is drawn from the ranks of the rebels, and slowly through many incarnations, making its way back to the original state-of-grace, when once again he may re-enter the Heavenly State of Peace and Joy.

The Muslims have names for scores of Angels, including the Chief Guard at the Heaven and Hell. Perhaps it is only in Islam that to declare 'Faith and Belief" in Angels is an essential part of the Basic Beliefs. They have a rich literature on the subject of Angels. Get to know any reputed Orientalist or a University Professor on Religions for your further studies in this sober subject. Best wishes and thanks for a good question.

Considering your question: When we came to the gate of life, from our mothers, there were other persons who deliver us, who ever they were, we were in their hands.
Abortion then could be done from the same hands of the deliverer!
St Peter is the one who deliver us to Hell too. Compared with an abortion.

where does the bible say Peter is at the gate? also, the bible does not mention who is waiting at the gates of hell...
we do know hell is hot..Luke 16:22 The rich man also died and was buried. 23In hell,[c] where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.'
25"But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.'
27"He answered, 'Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house, 28for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'

There is no scriptural reference that Peter is at the gates..... that is a dogma teaching that began long long ago with the RCC.
