If they "gave into temptation" then why is it that I as a straight woman have never been tempted to be with another woman?

Why are some people tempted to love their own sex and others are not if gay people are supposedly born to be attracted to the opposite sex?

Because gay people AREN'T born to be attracted to the opposite sex. Don't trust people who don't know what they're talking about. An ignorant, superstitious sand tribe from thousands of years ago DID NOT KNOW WHAT THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT.

The APA does. Check what the APA has to say about homosexuality.

Not everyone is gay, so not everyone is tempted. There is increasing scientific evidence that homosexuality is determined by your genetic makeup and brain chemistry; if you don't have it you aren't attracted to members of your gender.
The answer to your actual question is, god didn't, because there is no god. Some straight people (esp. Christians) hate gay people because they are different and being different is perceived as bad. That's pretty much the long and short of it.

They aren't tempted to be with the same sex, they are attracted to and fall in love with the same sex. Way to many straight people believe that homosexuality is all about the act of sex, but it's not. They are no more promiscuous than straight people are.

You should read the following written by a Southern Baptist Preacher on the topic of homosexuality, it's very informative and just might open your mind.

God does not create homosexuals... it is a choice .... he would not create something his own word describes as an abomination.

However satan loves to tempt people with things and then put it into their hearts that "well God made you that way so it must be okay."

Not everyone is tempted with the same things.... think of it as "hunting" you dont use the same bait for everything.... certain things work or seem more pleasureable to some than others.

The wonderful thing about it... is that the choice of homosexuality is not an unforgivable sin. If they will turn away from it and be repentant of it.... God will forgive them.

I don't believe in god however the bible says a man shall not lie with a man as he lies with a women.
Common sense says a man can not possible lie with another man the same way he lies with a women.
However it's suppose to be a "sin" and with god sins are forgiven. So be gay, be forgiving and all is well. Just the same with those people who commit any other sin.

"John C" You said god never created gay people......Ok well I don't believe in god but don't those who do claim god created everything and everyone?? So therefor it seems you don't even know anything about your own religion.
I "choose" to eat grapes, I can't help what foods I like and which ones I don't. I don't have any control over that just the same as gay people don't have control over which sex they are attracted too.

God does not hate gay people. The Bible tells us that no temptation is too great for us - He always offers a way out.
It is my belief that if a gay person prays to God to ask for wisdom or guidance for the proper and rightful course of action, God will welcome them with open arms and answer them like He would anyone else.

We all sin in some way. Sin entered the world a very long time ago and none of us are exempt from it. Why would God create thieves, or liars, or pedophiles, and then hate them? Sin condemns everyone, and God has made a way for us to escape judgment. It is sin that God hates.

Once any of us have heard the Gospel message of salvation, we are then faced with the choice of how we want to live: for God or for ourselves.

God has created all things, good and bad, as a pathway to deciding our own spiritual freewill. We can be tempted to do lots of things, such as people who are naturally more violent, but that doesn't mean God hates them. I truly can't see homosexuality as the evil sin that religious zealots have made it out to be. Surely there are much worse human beings out there, and besides, who said it was our right to Judge?

Jesus said, “ “All will know that you are my disciples if you love one another” John 13:35. We are to love our neighbors as ourselves. Mark 12:29-31. Moreover, Jesus exhorts us to love our enemies. Matthew 5:43-48. So whatever position a Christian takes regarding the sinfulness or non-sinfulness of same-sex orientation or same-sex sexual relations, I do not believe hatred toward anyone who is homosexual or engaged in homosexual activities comports with the message of love preached by Jesus.

Hatred is not an option.

We all stray from the path when we set out to judge others. In Matthew, we learn that we should judge not lest we be judged. We learn that judgment is our penalty for judging others. In Romans, we learn that whoever judges another condemns him or herself to being judged.

Interestingly, the message of love preached by Jesus works both ways. I often feel that homosexuals who would follow Jesus tread the rougher road. How do you love someone who claims status as a Christian, yet is judgmental and hate-filled?

We all need to show compassion and sensitivity. We all must love one another whoever they or we might be. Sadly, when it comes to homosexuality, many who would follow Jesus abandon his message of love.

Proverbs 6:16-19 tells us, "There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers." You will not see homosexuality on that list. The Bible does not preach a message of hatred toward homosexuals or homosexuality.

You do not ask in your question and I do not address the question of whether homosexuality is a sin. I did address this issue in an earlier question that you asked. I do point you toward one web site that has an interesting take on some of these issues. I have not read the entire site and thus I cannot endorse it in its entirety. I simply point you to one page:

I now head to lunch with a friend. There, I will struggle against the temptation to indulge in the sin of gluttony (gluttony is still a sin, right?).

Yours in peace,

MBH

Somewhere in the process of childhood something has happened that triggered those sorts of latent feelings I suppose. I have not seen any real evidence of an actual gene that causes people to be homosexual but I suppose it could happen to. And as to whether or not God hates them or not I do not know. I know what it says in the bible, and that seems pretty straight forward but I am not one to say whether someone is going to hell or not for something they do because I'm not God and cannot judge.

I dont think that God hates them... God loves everyone onthis earth. I think that yes being Gay is a sin, however who is to say that to what degree. I know we all sin everyday even in little things that we do not even realize at the time... such as jealousy, sex outside of marraige, takingt he lords name in vain, and so many more... I think that God can forgive anything, I am not so sure that a gay person thinks that he or she is doing anything wrong, I guess it is just natural to them.. I guess when it comes to judgement that God has the final say and knows what is in a persons heart.

I do not condone being gay, I am against it.... but I just feel that I can only account for myself and try and correct my own mistakes.
