Do you remember how the 72 virgin myth came about? Some randy youngster was told this and then he went and blew himself up. Now everyone thinks Muslims believe that there are 72 virgins waiting in heaven. I can tell you that's not true. If you need any more info please email me.

I'm not an expert but I don't think its true. Some people are too eager to believe everything they hear. I myself check these things out first, I'm an academic you see. I do know this, every person who gets in to heaven will have for them one spouse to keep them company there. They wont be the spouse you had on earth. To be honest we don't really know what heaven will actually be like until we get there (hopefully!) I think each persons heaven is what they want it to be, so if you love ben and jerrys you'll get a ben and jerrys stall. If your a randy perv then, who knows you might get loads of sex. Personally, I think its sinful to think you'll get in to heaven by killing loads of innocent people with the intention that you'll get 72 virgins, one way ticket to hell in my opinion.

Finally, please stop stereotyping us with this 72 virgin nonsense.

Neither, they're just women.
But you have to remember that in Islam, women are not "real" people like men are. Women only exist to serve men and have their babies, they don't have rights, they don't get to have an education, they can't sign contracts, they can't do anything without their husband's permission. So the 72 virgins aren't *real* women, they're the Islamic idea of the "ideal" woman.

Personally I like smart women who think and challenge me, who have their own goals and aspirations, and everything else that HUMANS do. Guess I can't ever be Muslim :)
