Yes, and no. It is an offshoot of Judaism, which in turn was an offshoot of ancient Sumerian fertility cults. The story of creation and the Flood story have their roots in the Epic of Gilgamesh, which predate the Torah by nearly a millenium. The stories of Jesus have their roots in pagan "savior cults".
