The human race peered into the night sky, and came up with an explanation for how the solar system that didn't seem to fit that well with the current Biblical Teachings at that time.

Since then, what happened to God?

In the Bible it says that 'north will become south, and south will become north...'. What does that mean?
And where in the bible does it say that?

Thanks

If your god is real, then why did he/she/it make people so tiny and insignificant to the point that we hardly exist in this universe?

I saw this page the other day, it is an approximate representation of the size difference between the planets in our solar system and the largest known stars. It's an interesting page, and very hard to comprehend that some of these stars are as big as they are! http://www.rense.com/general72/size.htm

* Note, not pictured is VV Cephei A "the supergiant, is the largest star known. It is of spectral type M2 and is about 1900 times the Sun's diameter. If it replaced the Sun in our solar system, it would extend to the orbit of Saturn. It is 315,000 times as luminous as the Sun and is 100 solar masses." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VV_Cephei

Do we really have any reason to feel we are so significant when we just barely exist? If your 'god' existed and was the maker of the universe, then clearly we are not that important to him/her/it.

Since 1644 the human race looked in its microscopes and has done an awful lot of research. Explanations for how the human body works. There have been explanations for how diseases work, and cures developed as a result of this research.

Since then, what has happened to the believe in God?

Sure,go ahead and insult me if you wish,but this is not for Atheists(that will be a seperate one),and I'm looking for something beyond "God is real" or,"Look around and see for yourself".I have looked,I have read,I have believed,now I wish for something that might satisfy the rational part of my brain.I mean,it really does suck not to believe in anything,but that is where I stand at the moment.Thank you for not being sarcastic...

I just wanna leave and go live somewhere else, because I don't feel love and barely any God in my house. My heart is crying out for someone to care for me, and I know God has the love already for me, but I don't wanna just 'bother' God with my stupid emotions because I think God's taking me through this for a reason and I think I'm missing the point. But this hurts so much, to love someone so much but no matter what you do, they just won't love you like they used to so you grow apart with hate of each other and all you really want to do is be one of the true best friends again.I'm talking about my brother and me. It's bad enough that my father didn't love us (me), left me, and ruined my picture of a happy family, now my brother's leaving me. Me and my brother were the best of friends growing up but now that we're teenagers we wants me to die, he disrespects my mom, and he's destroying my family. What do I do? I come asking anyone with an answer or suggestion. Please help me...

Please lead your comments by telling your religion/faith so that others can understand where you're coming from (viewpoint).

Are there any issues/problems with your faith/religion on this issue that you would like to clarify for others?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

When God tells a woman she should have an abortion should she follow God, or the Anti Christ Pro Life Movement?
God tells the woman he aborts fetuses every day, and he is a loving God and does not kill the soul of the fetus. Then He goes through the Bible and makes it clear that nothing in the Bible supports the pro life movement.
This is what I mean in the Bible:
1) Exodus 21, I am speaking about people who are fighting, not abortion;
2) Psalms 139, I am speaking about both those I abort with miscarriage, regular abortion, and those carried to term. I know them all;
3) Abortion is not murder, if it was I would say so;
4) Gen 9:6, 1st John 3:15, and Exodus 20:13 make it clear I cherish all life, and I do, that is why I abort some and allow others to die natural death to replenish my kingdom. I never even use the word abortion here.
5) Psa 139:13, 14, 15, 16, Yes I treasure all the life I chose to let live, when I direct you to abort though and you do not, then you are sinning.

Because no one in their right mind would believe....

"In Scientology doctrine, Xenu (also Xemu) is an alien ruler of the "Galactic Confederacy" who, 75 million years ago, brought billions of people to Earth in DC-8-like spacecraft, stacked them around volcanoes and blew them up with hydrogen bombs. Their souls then clustered together and stuck to the bodies of the living, and continue to wreak chaos and havoc today."

You can read more about it at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenu

So how do you think they brainwash their new members? It's scary that they have so many followers...

Whatever you learn becomes a part of your personality, but if you can't choose what shapes your personality, and your personality decides how you make choices...then freewill is an illusion. Explain to me how you can make a choice beyond what you know? I can't not know something and then be expected to make a decision based on what I don't know.

Just accept it people, freewill does not exist, (but you still gotta take responsibility for your actions). Now this doesn't really prove anything except that good and evil are just natural reactions. We're not so above the animal kingdom. Just give me an example of freewill, and I'll prove you wrong (not being arrogant).

A rainbow is in fact more beautiful and poetic, when we understand and appreciate how it works.

Is it proof of God? No, no its not.

I was just wondering what your feelings are about various religions. I'm catholic, myself. Today in my Americaln Lit class we discussed Thomas Paine's view on organized religion. He said that he doesn't believe in it and that he just belives in one God and nothing else. In his opinion organized religion is used to confuse and scare people. He also couldn't understand why there were so many different beliefs. I thought some of his ideas made sense. What are your thoughts?

My wife took a history of religion class, and I read some of her texts. What if God exists, but He doesn't give a damn about earthlings? Would that offend you? Would you still worship such a God?

If I'm an atheist, would believing in an indifferent God actually make me a theist, or is the very definition of atheism preclude that from happening?

Does anyone believe in God anymore? How can anyone look at the sky on a starry evening and not believe? The rainbow is beautiful, thunderstorms are awesome and a winter storm is a most unspeakable beauty. How can you look at your precious children and not thank God? Please, I really don't understand.
