Sure,go ahead and insult me if you wish, but this is not for Atheists(that will be a seperate one),and I'm looking for something beyond "God is real" or,"Look around and see for yourself".I have looked,I have read,I have believed, now I wish for something that might satisfy the rational part of my brain.I mean,it really does suck not to believe in anything, but that is where I stand at the moment.Thank you for not being sarcastic...

Ok,the thought of eyes on my feet cracked me up.I don't think that's quite the answer I was looking for,but it made me smile. Some of these are better than I expected, and food for thought.

Wow!Some really interesting reading. Some people actually got what I was asking-others,not so much. This is going to be difficult.I sincerely thank the Christians that expanded on their answers, beyond just "You should just believe in God because that's the way it is."

I think is is great that you have realized that you have a desire to know if God is real or not. I asked a question about why athiests hang around the religious forum and your answer grabbed me. I found your question and I will answer it the best I can. You asked for evidence. I did some research and I am not going to push my beiefs on you because I believe you are sincerely looking for answers. I have attached links to web sites filled with information. Some of the scientific information was somewhat over my head, but you may understand it better than I can. C.S. Lewis once said, "There is a God shaped vaccum in each of us." You are looking for God because you need Him. The Bible says if you seek him, you will find him.

There is a multitude of information on all of these sites. I would hope you would take the time to read them since this is the most significant decision you will make in your lifetime!

I also did a search for proof that God does not exist, proof that the Bible is a lie, proof that Jesus is a lie, and everything I could think that would contradict this evidence. The only thing I found was more evidence to prove that it is true. I would encourage you to do the same, more than just your life here on earth may be riding on this one decision!

It is evident that people of intellegence who set out to debunk the Bible or God nearly always find themselves surrounded by evidence that they were wrong. I believe becoming a Christian can derive from intellectual rationalization. You can use Science, History, Archaeology, or just plain rationalization to realize that athiests have missed something.

My prayers are with you! I long to help you find your way. You are already on a good path if you are seeking God. God bless you! Let me know if I can help in anyway with more questions.

I can't think of any religion that is "logical". I have looked, and not necessarily liked what I saw, I have read, and understood most, and I believe.. in my heart. That's where the real revelation begins... No matter what religion you follow, there are going to be aspects that are questioned, and aspects that you don't agree with. Look at what you do believe about the world and yourself, and that's when youl'l figure it out..
I don't need a religion to tell me how to act, how to teach, how to socialize and with whom (oooh I think that was correct grammar!) That part is all common sense. I believe in something that truely touches me and accepts me no matter what I've done or will do and doesn't JUDGE!!!!..

(I did like the answer about the Earth being perfect to support life as we know it... It was just LUCK! If people knew enough about the solar system and actually listened with open minds, they'd feel the same way.. ) hboo

There are laws that govern this entire universe and we as matter are governed by them too. Such laws until completely understood due to the sheer beauty and diversity of lifeforms and natural phenomenon and to a certain extent by man's ego have has led men to believe in something divine. How does everything exist in harmony? It is human to relate such power to a human form and thus arise deities. Now the question of which deity is something monotheists war about and hinduism broadly accepts everyone right to relate to that supreme thing/being in whichever way. That is viewed as polytheism. But what is that one law that governs all laws is what they strive for. It is not bogged down by sin and good deeds but karma and effect. It thus tries to bring morality in the level that the person is responsible for his own actions and deeds contrary to self preservation are not noble and thus no fighting over which one god should be worshipped. It is much more than an organised religion which are mostly of men's dealings in interpersonal affairs but tries to look at the universe aswell. Not many people believe it's monotheism in the thirst to understand and seach for the supreme law you may call it in science or "being" in faith. The hindu word for the supreme being is "Brahman" which also means the universe. It is about existing in harmony with nature and towards that end the worship of god to remember that harmony each day.

You ask a question that is not easily answered. I will tell you that I, personally, knew life as hell on earth. To be quite frank, I didn't care if there was a God because if there was, He didn't care about me and I didn't care about Him. I even, at one point, developed my own ridiculous theology that, at that time, made perfect sense to me... it was logical. There came a time when I started reading the Bible. At first it was curiosity, then interest, then fascination, then awe, and then revelation. I cannot tell you how many times I have read the Bible, but it began to make sense to me. I began to FEEL that it was alive and very real. I read other books and studied doctorates and historical accounts, thinking I would find something amiss. It just didn't happen. The more I read, the more I knew it to be the Word of God. I don't know how to tell you that this and this make it so. If you read the Bible and read history and archeology and scientific studies of the subject, and always pray for revelation while reading, you will be able to determine for yourself what you believe. God bless you with understanding. Amen and Amen.

This is going to sound sarcastic..... or at least cynical.

you wanted a logical reason to -believe- in a supreme being. To not feel alone in the world. You believe in a Supreme Diety, you will have bretheran and sisteren all around the world of the religion of the Diety you chose, the aspects thereof, and the beliefs thereof.

You can go into the whole afterlife thing, the whole creation thing, the whole belief thing, but you wanted logic.

Well, personally I think that the "just look around you" is a good reason. Where have you EVER found design without a designer, or creativity without a creator? Yes, it does take faith, but it is so logical and everything in Creation seems to point to God. Also the Bible, as His Word, is so right, all the prophecies were 100% true, over 40 writers, over a period of 1600 years, and not contemporaries of each other all wrote a book without contradiction, It has to b inspired, which also points to a God.
My conscience points to God
But most of all, I have faith. Faith is the subtance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

If you want the logical proof then you are going to have to do some work. You will have to study the Old Testament and see how it cordinates with other documents that happened around that time period to show its accuracy, you will have to research the prophecies that were made and that were fulfilled throughout the Bible, you will have to read through the Bible and see how things are being fulfilled every day that it said would happen. You could do all this, but then you will just find out, hey, its all true, and believe it. Or you could just believe it. because it is truth there is no wrong in it. Take any part of it and read it in its true context and you can find no wrong in it. If you don't believe then I am sorry, but God will be there whether or not you believe, and you will have no excuse when you see him.

No. Logically, God is nothing but the instinctive pack-animal nature of human beings. If we realize that we're entirely responsible for ourselves, we panic like sheep grazed into a corner, but if we believe we are being herded by some otherworldly sheepdog or another, we can go about our duties with the assurance that we'll have safer pastures at the end of our journey. Gods of all sorts are wonderful for stories, but when the sun sets, what we're really trying to keep from seeing is that we are only what we appear. Belief gives purpose, yes, but the ultimate belief should be given to science; the only religion that can prove what it claims.

Let me answer your question this way
The search for the existence is a true and personal deity is a fact that must be encountered personally, for no amount of discussion will prove it to one who isn;t open to that potential. So I will not try to convert, but will ask God to reveal Himself to you. . I will say that life as a believer is very different from life without a knowledge of God.

you're finding on the exterior and not taking a check out the inducement or investigating what Buddha taught or what's taught interior of diverse Buddhist colleges. once you define a faith or a team of persons devoid of asking questions (your question it is posed as a fact first, and then asking a pair of religious being...) Buddha grow to be a actual individual, he grow to be born prince Siddhartha. He grow to be not the 1st historic Buddha, however the 4th generic historic Buddha. he's the only one whose teachings stay to tell the story in written style to this present day, yet there are relics (slightly the the teeth) from the subsequent Buddha, Buddha Kysapa. Buddha grow to be a individual who attained enlightened thoughts, removing all negativities and delusions. The statues you spot in many diverse temples symbolize the instructor, Buddha... or a representation of features or attributes that an enlightened being could own... it is the reason some photos have 4 palms to one million,000 palms (to realize all beings in each course). think of of issues being symbolic extremely than thoroughly mundane or literal... now you have become closer. some Buddhas are blue, yellow, pink, white, black... those colours can symbolize diverse features and a concentration of motive... we even have expressions interior the West inclusive of "genuine blue", etc. it is not uncommon to have a colour symbolize an characteristic, otherwise brides would not traditionally positioned on white the two. selections are an act of benefit, that's something you're able to do to tutor gratitude... like desirous to get your mom or Dad a stunning modern-day for their birthday. fragrance (incense), plant life, song, nutrition (that's maximum in many situations given on a regular basis to clergymen, nuns, hungry human beings as an offering after the regulate offering) is see as a favorable act and thoughts. many situations people who make selections interior the temple additionally visualize that they are feeding all starvation human beings, and hungry animals, etc whilst they make an offering interior the temple... whether a individual can't feed all of the hungry interior the international they are in a position to make a prefer to accomplish that, and with the aid of this way create the reason or a destiny the place they could have the means to do greater for greater beings interior the destiny. So, one can check out the inducement, the thoughts at the back of what we "think of" we see, or perhaps what we "be attentive to" we see whilst somebody from yet another way of existence does something, according to probability from our attitude, is a great "unusual". wish this helps.
