My wife took a history of religion class, and I read some of her texts. What if God exists, but He doesn't give a damn about earthlings? Would that offend you? Would you still worship such a God?

If I'm an atheist, would believing in an indifferent God actually make me a theist, or is the very definition of atheism preclude that from happening?

A loving, caring God is what motivates people to worship Him and to reach out to their fellow man. An indifferent God would cause people to feel apathetic and even bitter.

So, leaving open the alternative that evolution could desire to be the technique God utilized in introduction is looking Him a liar? exciting. incorrect and illogical, yet exciting. Did the God of the Bible let us know how He created the heavens? No, no longer something interior the Bible states something approximately it. Did the God of the Bible let us know how He created the oceans? No, no longer something interior the Bible states something approximately it. Did the God of the Bible let us know how He created easy? No, no longer something interior the Bible states something approximately it. the only factor pronounced interior the Bible on how God created something is that he shaped guy from the dirt, and female from a guy's rib. no longer the rest is pronounced in any respect. to declare we are calling God a liar simply by fact He "did no longer let us know the certainty approximately His introduction" is a logical fallacy. God did no longer demonstrate numerous something approximately how He created the Earth and life. that would not make Him, or us, a liar. possibly, simply by fact we've self belief He is unquestionably-known with us greater desirable than we are able to ever know ourselves, he will demonstrate this guidance whilst He is unquestionably-known with we are waiting, and He has desperate we are no longer waiting as of now. by skill of how, I neither have self belief nor disbelieve evolution. i extremely do no longer care approximately it one way or yet another, for even despite if that's authentic, it may in no way, and could in no way, shake my faith in God as my writer..

i think that might be closer to deist thinking. although deism was a bigger thing of the 17th century, there are still deists today. deists (from what i've heard) believe that there is a transcendant and not imminent God, a higher power, but he just created the world, set it in motion, and left it alone to survive or die on its own. to deists, God exists but is not intimately involved in our lives. Christians believe that God exists and *is* intimately involved in our lives. being a Christian, i do not think i could believe in the God of the deists (personally). hope this helps!

regardless of what Christians 'think' they need, God is who he is. That is a loving, caring, God who cares even when we dont.
