Are people that isolated that they can't see the over-the-top nature of the questions? Some are not seeing bob l's questions as obvious and over-the-top. I once asked a parody question about which parker brothers product - ouija boards, trivial pursuit or monopoly - was the best to contact spirits with (trying to highlight the sillyness of treating ouija boards in that way) and, while most got it, some took my question literally. Why?

Unless you're asking God low-ball pleas...like, "Let me breathe in again.." ...of course praying is a test. Unless you're asking HIM to put food on your table...and not to cure someone of a deadly disease...of course it is a test!
If I asked someone for a dollar...that is a test. Why is God held to lower/higher standards for 'testing' than some anonymous guy?

On Saturday, Indian police said the Inter-Services Intelligence, along with Lashkar-e-Taiba, branded a terrorist group by the United States, was behind bomb blasts that killed 186 people and wounded hundreds in Mumbai on July 11.
The women of Rotan Batu, known informally as the Widows’ Village, have lost their husbands to the bombs or bullets of a Muslim insurgency that has made this area of jungle and dirt-road villages the most dangerous part of Thailand

Whenever I mention the fact that I'm an atheist to other christians, why do they always ask the following question: "Well, how can you believe the universe sprang from nothing?"

Hold up! First of all, the issue of how the universe began has nothing to do with my non-belief in god. I don't believe in any god simply because I have no evidence of "his" existence, no personal experience-nothing! How the universe began is a separate issue altogether.

Just because you don't have an answer for something does not necessarily mean that god did it. Why do so many of you need to have a god-of-the-gaps explanation for everything? Do you still think sickness is caused by evil spirits? Do you think volcanoes erupt due to the volcano god getting angry?

The Bible is clear. It calls for death as punishment for sin. Such death is not called murder. Christians today generally do not accept the rules regarding the issues relating to killing a woman that has had sex outside marriage; however, the light it sheds on abortion is without question. In the Bible anyone who commits adultery is stoned to death. And there is no specific time frame during which the stoning is to take place. This sets a limit upon when a fetus becomes a life worth saving. If a woman committing adultery is discovered she is stoned. Prior to conception and after conception God calls for death of the pregnant woman. Killing the woman and man along with the fetus continues at any time once it is discovered that adultery occurred. . However, God does not call for the killing of the child. Therefore once birth has occurred, the child may not be killed. It is clear that from conception to birth God does not consider the fetus an independent human.

Our goal is to help people, especially those who can't go to a regular church, e.g.the elderly, disabled, etc.. Most of the feedback we have gotten from family and so-called friends has been negative. We just want to help people and we don't see anything wrong with using the internet for this purpose. Please give your opinion and if you want to say something negative, that's O.K. just please be nice about it as we are all feeling down about whether or not this was a mistake. Thanks, and God bless you.

Is that really good enough for you??? Why don't you just lie down where you are and say, "God did it." If you get hungry.."Oh geez..God did that! Now I gotta eat...why is God so mean?"..."Should I pray for fullness...or go to the fridge?"...."I can't test God, but I pray anyway.....'cos I'm so obtuse that I don't know praying is a test of God!" ...."One day those heathens will burn in HELL...but that was out of my hands...like Pontius Pilate."
