I guess a better way to phrase this is if it's not a violent religion, what is there in the religion that makes these people so violent, there has never been a religion that caused destruction worldwide, especially when they aren't converting anyone, they are just recklessly killing

Its not the religion that makes people violent, it's the people's perceptions and ideals which make them violent... to say Islam is a violent religion is naiive... you may as well say that all religions are violent as history shows this but like I said it is people's perspectives and their own ideas of how they want the world and taking extreme measures to show others this that makes this world an unsafe place today...

people from all classifications are violent: just because some people who commit violent acts are muslim does not mean all muslims are violent. the only way to prove islam is violent is to show that the koran approves of violence.
by the way, i really hate it when people ask these questions and in order to answer them other people say, well christianity was violent too, as if that somehow answers the question

Why is Christianity such a violent religion? The US and Britain are supposedly Christian, and they kill thousands of people a day in Iraq - and were responsible for the slave trade in the Americas, the holocaust, the rape and plundering surrounding Imperialism and have fought the two bloodiest conflicts in world history, almost entirely without combatants from other religions. Sounds pretty bloody to me.
Also are you going to believe the propaganda you hear about Pakistan from INDIA - a country that has hated Pakistan ever since they seperated?

Think about all the Islam and Christians who are peaceful. THose that make headlines are the ones that are violent. You dont hear news about them praying and not contributing to violence because....its not news.
