because you think for yourself?

2006-10-01 13:03:52 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 3 2

Because you have no choice.

People do not CHOOSE to be an atheist any more than they choose not to believe in Santa, the Easter bunny or faeries. You either do believe or you don't. And if you don't there is nothing left to be but an atheist.

Relax. You're in good company.

Because you choose to be.

EDIT: ROFLMAO.........To the person below me, are you seriously saying it is not a choice? LMAO......... All of your beliefs are a choice. Prove the non-existence of God.....You can no more prove that than I can prove God exists, of course it is a choice.

Anyone can choose to believe in anything they wish, some beliefs are beneficial and some are detrimental but everything you think is based on belief.

I will give you the only thing you can EVER prove and it is only a subjective proof. "I think therefore I am"..........everything else in life is based off of the belief that other people think and therefore exist but you can not prove you think to anyone but yourself and therefore you can not prove that this is all not just figments of your deranged imagination, no matter how real it seems.

We hold beliefs as Truth if they match what we perceive as reality and we generally have no problem taking the leap of faith that others exist.

As we go out further down the spectrum to things such as the existence of God we see more of a divergence in belief. You CHOOSE not to believe in God with no more evidence than I had when I made my choice to believe.

At one time I was an Atheist.....it didn't work for me, I didn't like it and chose to reevaluate my beliefs.

Feel free to message me if you would like to share ideas on this philosophical subject. I would love to here your views (beliefs).

Because there is no logical proof that god exists and you are probably smarter than the average person who believes in god because thats what they were taught. You are logical verses emotional and thats why you question if there is a god or not. Its cool...I dont believe god exists either. Maybe you just arent afraid of the future and what is going to happen to your loved ones...accept life for what it is.

I would say because you refuse to believe in a GOD who loves you and wants the best for you and you have instead focused on the bad and corrupt things in this world. That's satan's ultimate plan. Focus on Him for one week and see if He won't change your heart. but you have to be open, if you refuse to listen then He can't and won't do anything for you. Just like satan is so full of pride that he got cast out of Heaven, imagine GOD casting you out of His presence of Glory and love that He has for you.

Because you haven't asked Jesus Christ to come into your Heart and Save you (Recreate your Spirit).
You will be Spiritually Blinded (not able to Believe in GOD) until you do.
You can Mentally Agree that Jesus is who HE says HE is, but you will not Know that you Know that you Know, until your Spirit gets Recreated and the Blinders come off.

Because you don't believe in any divine forces/supreme beings. There is nothing wrong with that so why do you ask?

You obviously deny the existence of God,/ or disbelieve in God!

your choosing to listen to man try and explain God yet God can not be explained so you think you need some type of proof before you can believe, so i would say your pride has got in the way. hows that?
