Unless you're asking God low-ball pleas...like, "Let me breathe in again.." ...of course praying is a test. Unless you're asking HIM to put food on your table...and not to cure someone of a deadly disease...of course it is a test!
If I asked someone for a dollar...that is a test. Why is God held to lower/higher standards for 'testing' than some anonymous guy?

You're right praying and asking God for something (cure my cancer, help me get a better job etc) is a test, one that he usually fails. If you ask a loving God for something you truly need and you don't get it, you have two options: he said no (not very loving), or he couldn't be bothered (again, not very loving). I personally go with option three: there isn't any there to hear you anyway.

First of all, prayer is not a test if you do it right. When you pray you should always thank God for something.

Testing God does not occur through prayer. Testing God is saying something like "I'll believe in you if you turn that stick into a snake". Testing God is denying His existance unless He does something to prove it to you. Or demanding that He show you some kind of sign. THAT is testing God.

Prayer is talking directly to God. He doesn't answer all prayers in the way people want. For example, if you pray for that dollar, and God gives it to you, what are you going to use it for? Would you take that dollar and go to the strip club? Or go buy a lottery ticket? God knows what is best for you. And just because your prayers are unanswered in your eyes, doesn't mean that they are actually unanswered. People don't always know what is best for them.

Praying is a socially accepted mental disorder that is on par with "obsessive compulsive disorder"

If you actually look at the mechanics of 'praying' then you we see how ludicrous this superstitious ritual actaully is.

God gives you what ever it thinks that you truly need. you might think that you truly need to be cured from cancer, but maybe that isn't what was destined to happen. dying isn't the worst thing to happen to you, it is having love in items, and being high maintenance.

IF I ASK SOMEONE FOR A DOLLAR, ITS BECAUSE I NEED IT.
NO TEST THERE.
I ASK GOD TO PUT FOOD ON MY TABLE AND TO HEAL.
WHERE IS THE TEST?
GOD IS IN CONTROL,I TRUST HIM,I LOVE HIM .
I DON'T TEST HIM.

What? The bad thing about preaching is that your point sometimes gets lost.

Your question is ludicrious. Prayer is an honor. A priviledge. It is intimate time spent with a loving God.

Because His word admonishes us "do not put the Lord thy God to the test"....that's why.
