The majority of answerers said that the reference was for the soul, or intelligence, or our spiritual form; and that the statement in Genesis was more metaphorical.

Fair enough (though I've yet to hear the criteria for what is metaphor or poetic, and what is literal).

So here's my next question. Why weren't our physical bodies made better? More limbs, more eyes, greater muscles, better senses, tougher skin, quicker healing, and so on.

I know many will say that these weren't needed before the fall of man... so why were animals given these features if they weren't needed? Or did armadillos have soft skin, dogs could only smell like we can, and spiders walked on two legs?

And I don't consider the desire to not question "God's plan" a virtue. I think blind faith is one of the prime causes of misery in life.

He is a good Muslim boy by the name of Faakhir. I want to meet his family and he wants his family to meet mine. We are planning a big family gathering between the Faakhirs and the WhyNotAsks prior to our marriage. I'm sure that we can all get along together. When a muslim terrorist attack succeeds you never hear any muslim condemming it or saying it's a bad thing if anything they seem to try and defend it by saying things like "the USA is evil they bomb us" and cr@p like that.
It's as if they are all secretly glad when 100s of christains get killed.

Finally some one had the courage to call a spade a spade. The Pope quotes a scholar from the Middle Ages who said Mohammed was spreading Islam through the sword. Violence to those who opposed it, or believed differently. And the word inhuman worked its way into the read.

Next thing, the Islamo –Fascist's want the Pope killed. They burn churches in Gaza and the West Bank, murder a Nun in Somalia, and declare a day of anger.

The Pope should have just sat back and a day later said “see what I mean?” Any religion that preaches killing, can not possibly worship the same God we do.

Yet there are many in this country who choose to ignore these actions, and their many threats claiming they will turn the whole world Islamic. Instead those people, like NBC’s Matt Lauer and others in the media would rather worry about torturing enemy combatants, these same people who have vowed to kill the Infidels, that’s us by the way.

Muslims burn effiges of the pope, shout, riot, burn churches, shoot 65 year old nuns in the back and give hate speeches aimed at Christians and Western countries- and we put up with it.

But can you imagine if a Christian burned a mosque, or burned an effige of mohammud, or shot dead a respected muslim? World War III would be sparked.

for instance we love all of our family and friends but according to some mainstream religions unless a person follow the correct faith they are going to hell, surely god expects us to love our family etc,why would he save some believers giving them paridise on earth while unbelievers are condemed to eternal damanation,how does he expect us to live with the knowlege that people we love are suffering in hell

If the disaster deadly, is their God a "ministration of death"?

What about whatever ye loose on earth, is loosed in heaven?
Would this not make ye (do err) repsonsible for the disaster?
