Because most have been indoctrinated from birth to accept religion, and theirs particularly, as the one true truth, this is then reinforced through the early years of the education system and of course any religious events they attend.

The other section are the convertees most, who again, are indoctrinated and usually have been picked up and 'saved' at a very vulnerable time in their personal life.

Opium of the masses as a bearded chap once said.

Great question. I don't know the answer and wish I did. I work with the public and at least once a week someone is inviting me to their Church or leaving a tract on the counter. I must look like I need their help. Some go so far as to 'preach' to me about how I should let God take over my life. I have to stand there and smile, I need my job.

Buddhists, Hindus, Shintos, Pagans, Native American spirituality, none of these cram their beliefs down your throat. In fact, this is the rule and Middle Eastern religions are the exception. They are the One True Faiths and are eager to convert people to their cults. You need to study more world religions because you just don't know.

If using it by the wisdom of God, Christians won't be too forceful. The person recieving it must first be open, if not, he or she may feel is "too much" and will be a turn-off.. Is a two-way communication.. We, as Christians, share the goodness, love and faithfulness of what He has done. God bless you!

This is so funny. That was my punch line for years as an Atheist. Later when I looked back I realized that I cant remember anyone ever cramming Jesus down my throat. Only people inviting me to church and offering to pray for me and asking me if I was happy. I was even mad at a neon sign in Tacoma Washington that read "JESUS IS THE ANSWER." It was not anyone shoving Jesus down my throat. I didn't even believe in GOD so why was I mad? It was the Spirit of GOD in me telling me the truth. Plain and simple. React to it any way you like.

GOD bless ya.

I feel that they aren't trying to shove it down your throat, it's whatever you believe and how you precieve it, but if I'm not interested and they keep going on and on, yes, it gets annoying!

I have never had anyone try to convert me, except Christians. I have never seen anyone stand in public, shouting at passersby and waving around a book, except Christians. I have never had anyone come to my door and try to convert me, EXCEPT CHRISTIANS!!!

I see a trend developing here...

Yes it doesn't intoxicate me like it does them.
Also, I'm not gay, it's fine for them, but i don't want them ramming it down my throat either.
