I asked a question in the politics forum and they pretty much said they don't know any conservatives who would think the earth is less than 10,000 years old and that view was relegated only to extremist bible thumpers and foolish people-- to put it mildly...
Now, I have liberal leanings, and that's what other conservatives say about creationists.
So I wonder why when Americans are poled such a high percentage of them seem to believe in a young earth?
Do you think that only very few conservatives are creationists but all creationists vote Republican?

One gentleman by the name of "ANTHONYSOMETHING" on YA recently BADNAMED BENNY HINN without to understand the "Works of the HOLY SPIRIT:

This miracle that Benny Hinn did is not new...early Christians used their clothes to heal people as in the verse below...

Act 19:11-12 "And God was doing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even HANDKERCHIEF or aprons that had touched his skin were carried away to the sick, and their diseases left them and the evil spirits came out of them"

This is not the ONLY instance, look at this one as well:

Matthew 9:20 "And behold, a woman who had suffered from a discharge of blood for twelve years came up behind him and touched the FRINGE OF HIS GARMENT"

She got healed after she touched the fringe of the garment of Jesus...mind you she did not touch the skin of Jesus.

Let all tele-evangelists haters do their homework before they critisize!

Recently, they've been asking my daughter to say a blessing. She is three and based on our complicated religious surroundings, I'm only teaching her the universal truths, such as good morals (such as don't hurt others or lie) and respect for all life until she's old enough to understand better. I want to find or write a "blessing" or something similar to say before meals that is not offensive as a Pagan or as a Christian. Something that does not include the word "god".

With His spare time? I mean, he wasn't ALWAYS off raising the dead, walking on water and curing lepers... so what was he doing? As a human, he certainly needed some sleep - did He read before bed? What was His favorite snack? Did he go to parties (besided the wedding)? Did he ever use his gifts for sheer entertainment purposes? I totally would have been down with a party guest who would turn water into wine... but how do you suppose He spent His downtime?

Imagine there's this pandemic. This horribly crippling disease that torments the host for their entire life untill they die. But wait you're the only one that can see that it's this disease that's causing all the discomfort and suffering. The people infected don't even beleive they are sick. Not only that but you've discoved the cure! You'ved saved you're own life and clearly see the disease for what it is on everyone else. Desperately you try to convince everyone they have this disease. You plead with them telling them that you're trying to save their life if only they'd simply take the cure. No one will beleive you and what's more they hate you for even suggesting their might be something desperately wrong in their lives. You're only trying to help and you feel obligated to because you hold the knowledge of the cure. Such is the tragedy of being a Christian. Why hate those that are only trying to help you?

Also, why are they singled out? Why uphold Islam then bash Christianity?

I live in the US and the country has gone crazy with this born-again stuff. When I was younger (the 70's preREAGON) people went to church to see their community. Now its the rapture, us against Islam, and all this Jesus stuff. Is this going on over there?

It's awful for thinking Americans who have only been born once!

I heard that Hinduism teaches that a woman can not merge with the Brahman - they have to be reincarnated as a man first. Is this true?

If so, then Hinduism is as sexist as other organised religions.

It is often said that the USA is the country with the most religious freedoms. Does this mean that no other country allows its citizens to openly practice their choice of religions? I know there are the obvious exceptions (ie the middle east) but seriously, we can't be the only one. Is this just more "propaganda" the US promotes so the citizens will feel superior in their world status?

I think it would be difficult to prove that vaccines have cured any diseases. I think you will find that cleaning up sanitation laws, inspection of cattle and stuff like that, getting rid of diseased creatures and diseased crops is really what has done the job. Now there may be a coincidence they happened at the same time. Like when they started, you know, vaccinating for one thing and at the same time had better sanitation laws and inspections. It may look like the vaccine cured the disease when actually something else cured the disease.

Ice can survive just fine right up against water, it does it all the time in Antarctica and the Artic Ocean. These huge blocks of ice called blue icebergs float around for five years. You could drag a giant iceberg down to off the coast of Sahara Desert on the Equator and it would take years to melt.

What are your views on Stigmata? Is it truly a sign from God and a blessing? Is it all just a hoax to con people out of money or to convert?

Could this phenomenon be mental? Have people wanted feel blessed by Jesus so much that their minds caused these wounds to appear? This would mean it was a case of mind over matter!

How can you explain the wounds being in different areas. Some have wounds in the middle if the hand. Some have them on the wrists. But the wrist did not occur until scientist came out that it was impossible to hang by the hands. What about people that have crosses appear on the forehead. This was not a wound of Jesus!

shouldn't they have better self control? Why do women need to cover themselves to avoid inflaming men's passion? In the West men are able to see (and even talk to) an uncovered woman without getting aroused. And we can treat them with repect, covered or not. What is the problem with Muslim men?

Many people consider the writings that came to be called The Bible, The Quran, etc as being the truth, despite the many different translations, interpretations of each of the writings, and the obscurity and selective choices of material from which they came. Could people in 2000 years (assuming there are still some around) consider the more verifiable sources of writing from such as Hitler, Marx, Mao, Hubbard and others to be more believeable?
