What ever happened to the burden of proof being on the accusers? If you believe that God doesn't exist offer proof, please note that common questions asked don't prove a lack of existence. If you believe that God does exist offer proof and please note that quotes from a religious text doesn't prove existence. And if you can't then maybe you should quit trying to act superior to each other because you both are acting just as stupid as each other. There is almost no difference between the preaching of an Atheist and the preaching of a believer.

The idea doesn't bother my family so much as some of my christian friends. Anyone that has been through this, please help out. (P.s. not a wiccan, just a solitary practioner)
I just don't want to have to go through "the talk" w/ a particular friend. How do I word myself? How do I bring up the topic?

ok I know I am biased here but if other Arab nations wanted to truly help end the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians why don’t they open their borders to their Muslim brothers and allow them to immigrate to other Muslim nations and become citizens like Israel did for Jewish Arabs after 1948?

I mean if Israel is truly mistreating the Palestinians then why not help them out? I would bet you Israel would even pay for the expenses.

Instead this is how they treat them.

If your best friend was being arrested and you knew he was the son of God then would you deny knowing him ?

My leaning is towards the idea that at the time he didn't know he was the son of God. Thoughts ?

Hi! everyone, For a long time, i have been going thru a very tough Trial that the Lord allowed, I know God will put us thru Test and Trials as Christians sometimes, to test our Faith, or he does it to Discipline us. Just pray that the Lord will give me more Strength to Get thru this and also pray that it will end for good soon! I heard a Preacher Say once on TBN, ("where there is Testing there is Blessing") Well, thanks for Praying for me, Take care and God Bless!----Jeff

Will you please join me in prayer for all the people who try there hardest to disprove our beliefs. They are so caught up in trying to steer us away from our faith that it becomes impossible for them to hear the truth. Many people here have different beliefs than us, and that's okay. It's the ones that are trying to make us stop believeing that i am worried about. What if someone who is weak in their faith was to come here, and be swayed away from the truth? We need to pray for the Christians to be strong, and the others to be open minded. Thanks and God Bless.

Disney was a Hitler supporter I heard.
I'm sympathetic to the Nazi movement on certain grounds but probably to different reason and not to lethal intent.

I was reading a comment from a user that suggested that people who follow any faith (Muslim, Christian) are, in effect, mentally ill. This was stated in an unequivocal fashion. And I thought, to have that strength of conviction requires a great deal of faith - and therefore the atheist must be mentally ill as well.

I kind of like this idea since it would mean that religious or atheist - we're all mentally ill. And if everyone is mentally ill - well, then, we are all on the same level. The dogmatic passion of the atheist is as likely to lead to wars as the passions of any other religious group.

Anyways - just throwing the idea out there.

In laws that define social morals, how much religion do you think should be involved? Where does the line between moral relativism and cultural or religious belief systems blur?

Examples of morality based legislating: abortion, cloning, stem-cell research, death penalty, gay marriage, governmental funding of faith-based services (hospitals, charities, arts), public decency standards (how naked is too naked?).

I've been thinking about it for quite a long while, and have decided what's the point of only one view?
That's why I'm here.
I want you guys to try and convince me that God either does or does not exist. Give evidence. Let's try and have a real discussion--the more heated the better-- and see what happens. Happy arguing :)

Marriage is supposed to be a religious thing. Why does the state provide two married individuals of opposite sex extra rights that single people don't get? There are separate tax laws for married couples and couples have visitation rights.

Why does the state protect the rights of two opposite sex couples but not same sex? Why do they support Christian marriage of two people, but not polygamy like in other religions? Is this not religious discrimination? Why does our government make Christianity superior?

If they want to keep church and state separate, shouldn't they not support one definition of marriage over another. Personally, I'm against gay marriage. The Bible says gays are bad, and the Catholic Church should not allow it. But it is a religious thing. I don't understand why the state defines it as well.

It should be only a religious occurence. Politicians should say "marry however you want within your religion but don't expect the state to condone or condemn particular ones.
