Will you please join me in prayer for all the people who try there hardest to disprove our beliefs. They are so caught up in trying to steer us away from our faith that it becomes impossible for them to hear the truth. Many people here have different beliefs than us, and that's okay. It's the ones that are trying to make us stop believeing that i am worried about. What if someone who is weak in their faith was to come here, and be swayed away from the truth? We need to pray for the Christians to be strong, and the others to be open minded. Thanks and God Bless.

Sorry, my parents are not Christian, I found Jesus on my own. But thanks for making assumptions about my life. I lost both my parents. But thanks.

I'm a Christian and will pray, but if you honestly think that this website is going to sway a person to become an atheist or any other religion you don't like, then you need to get off here and find somewhere else to spread your Christianity too. It isn't called Yahoo! Christian Answers. It's called Yahoo! Answers and everyone has a right to post stuff that they want to ( to a point) and if you are reading something that you don't approve of, click the back button and find something else to read. You didn't offend me, but people who are weakon thier faith need to go talk to someone about it, not post questions on here. Why don't you start a group or something and post you beliefs there. You might help more people that way. Besides, isn't that what praying is for?

I have thought the exact same as you. I only started getting into this section a week or so ago and I was sad to see so many lost souls. I went to someone in my family who I trust to talk to him about this and what I could maybe say to possible help lead at least one lost person on here to know God. This is what he told me: Only God can save someone. Not us. It is like the saying "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink." He said that Christians can spread the word of God, but in the end it isn't us who make someone choose to become a Christian, it is God. Also this was his suggestion to me, after seeing how upset it made me to see how many unsaved people there was on here. He said that it would be best that Christians stay out of this section, because the non-believers were going to try to put doubts in our minds and those Christians that have strayed away from God, might start questioning their faith. He said that Satin is using these non-believers (whether they know it or not) to try to confuse Christians. As a result I only look at questions that I can tell are asked by a Christian.

'I have studied the Bible, believed devoutly and do not anymore. If you read what Jesus said, he said not to pray in public, or wear your religion on your sleeve. He said to pray in your closet and live your life by example. I am sure there are many many Christians who do just that, but it is the self righteous ones that go around pushing their Jesus love on others that are equivalent to those who do not believe and wish to change someone else's beliefs.
I have followed the moral teachings of Jesus all my life because they seem to be the right way to live. I think you should be more worried about the fanatics who are making a bad name for Christianity. They are truly the ones that turn people away.

Following the teachings of Jesus should not make you all high on life and blooming with love. Jesus did not walk around floating on air cuz God loved him. He felt angry for the suffering of the weak and the hypocrites who claimed to be closer to God. To be a true follower of Jesus, to me, would mean to take life very seriously, treat EVERYONE with respect and compassion, and live your life as an example with dignity and grace not a holly roller high that is pretty much the same as drugs. Don't use Jesus to escape the pain of life, but to face life, not just your own, but the suffering of others, even ones who do not share your beliefs.

St Symeon "the New Theologian" said something about this topic quite spot on:

"Those, then, who... are under dominion of darkness and are unwilling to contemplate the spiritual light from which their forefather fell look on those who have come to that light and speak of the things of the light as adversaries and enemies, since their words wound them. When a sunbeam in some way penetrates into a dark house it pierces and cuts through the darkness like an arrow. So the divinely inspired word of a spiritual and holy man is like a two edged sword (Heb 4:12) in the heart of a carnal man. It causes him pain and provokes him to contradict and hate because of his ignorance and unbelief."

Those in darkness are doing what is natural for them to do, so we should not resent them, but pray that they be able to see the light

Lord Jesus Christ, help us to strengthen our faith in you.

Help us always to put on our belt of truth and the breastplate of righteousness as we battle the principalities of darkness, who are so determined to make us fall.

Give us clarity of mind and a pure and humble heart, so that we might be witnesses to you in life and in death. Amen.

[For the time will come, when they will not endure sound Doctrine; but after their own Lusts shall they heap to themselves Teachers, having itching Ears; and they shall turn away their Ears from the Truth, and shall be turned unto Fables [2 Tim. 4:3-4].

Are you any more open minded to the opinions of others as you wish them to be open minded to your beliefs? Somehow, I rather doubt it. Very few people are here to learn, most are here to teach others their own views and I'm probably a bit guilty of it myself. Everyone here has a purpose, presumably to further his own points of view and some may even feel a need to sway persons away from what they see as a life of lies and fables. Just a thought. My apologies to all for interrupting, so please, go on with your prayer.

Amen! You are an amazing Christian, thank you! That's just what I (and I'm sure many other Christians on here) need right now. It is EXTREMELY difficult to deal with all of the non-Christians on here. All you can really do is pray for God to give you strength.

You're right, alot of Atheists say there are here only to unconvert people, and that is sad on their part...and hypocritical. They always say Christians are stupid and judgmental for pushing their beliefs, and they are doing the same thing.

I will pray for them, for most of them are confused, silly people who throw insults like a 12 yr old.

I've already counted several of them, throwing insults immediately...the more you guys question, the more obvious it is that you know you are missing something in life.

that is why it is so imprtant to stay in your word.the bible speaks of the very elect getting turned away from the word.thats why we as christians must devote ourselves to the teachings of the bible.study to show thyself approved, pray without ceasing and remember where the lord brought us from.remember everyone will not be saved so you cant make anyone change their heart.all we do is plant the seed and the lord will water it.i stand in agreement with you right now in the name of jesus.be strong in the lord and the power of his might. amen
