Do you combine truths and myths to create a model of self and world within mind in body that lives and dies? If you build a strong foundation of truth and knowledge based on scientifically reproducible discovery and a weak or negative framework of myth and fantasy based on mystery, then will you find yourself exposed to emotive forces of sorrow, fear and anger as fall of disease and winter of death set in? To protect yourself, do you balance powerful emotive forces of sorrow, fear and anger produced by discovery of truth about the fractal infernal temporal nature of self and world with powerful emotive forces of joy, faith and love produced by myths about the divine eternal nature of self and world? Do you build both a foundation of truth and knowledge based on scientifically reproducible discovery that best produces good health and a framework of myth and fantasy based on the mystery of existence that best produces happiness?

This is a follow up from a preious question. "Is Jesus nice?"

I just finish reading most of Mark, and I got the impression Jesus was very mad at the way people were living. He said something to the effect of this is the "evil geration" five or six times.

So does God have a sense of humor? Does the bible ever mention Jesus laughing? He always seems so focused on the negitive...he even says that he wants to focus on the negitive. He said many times that sick people need doctors well people don't.

If you actually read the book, what did you think? What did you agree with in the book and what didn't you agree with? This is probably one of the most interesting books I've read in awhile. Written very intelligently.

Many theists I've seen on Y-Q&A, seem to think that being an atheist automatically means that you "believe in evolution". I'm an atheist that does not believe in evolution. I do however understand that there is clear evidence of micro-evolution, and there is no evidence of macro-evolution. That is why scientists call it the theory of evolution, and not the fact of evolution. They are still researching it. I also understand that intelligent design is not even a theory. It is presented as fact with no credible evidence accept a book written by believers. You either have faith, or you don't. Which is fine with me. I don't care what people believe, until they push their beliefs into U.S. funded public schools.

Creationism, & evolution are interesting man made beliefs and theories, but none have given us the answer to the origin of the universe, no matter how much you believe.

Do believers use faith for all of their facts? Or do any research atheism for themselves from atheist sources?

I'm sure I'm gonna regret this question in this category, most of all...
But here goes:
..hey--at least I'm not asking if Paris has a new song, & if anyone likes it!!
And I'm not even gonna ask your opinion about "Condie" , or her hairstyle, or alleged headache.....(PuhLEEEEZE!) And to be honest, I couldn't care less about your religious affiliation, sexual preference, or ethnic background.

I just wanna know----when is the last time you were nice to someone? For no other reason than that it felt good??!!

if you really notice, most of the question and answers here relates to Islam and Christianity. No other religion is involved. Why is that? Is this a spritiual war-fare. Just like the Bible says...the muslim and christian will have war.

There are early versions of the Bible available in their original language - Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic. So many people are convinced that the original scripture has been tampered with but so few then take the time to research the original material. You can even get modern Bibles with the translations and dictionary sections included for those languages. I think you'll find that the meaning hasn't changed all that much. What's lost in translation isn't as signigicant as what you stand to gain. Can't devote that much time and effort? Try just one book or gospel.

I was reading Mark today, and as I was reading I got the distinct impression that Jesus wasn't a happy fellow. Almost everything he said was critical. I keep hearing people say that Jesus was this cheery person, but it seems to me that he was rather pissed off.

Is God a laid back dude, or is he hardcore strict, or somewhere inbetween? Why do you think so?

Now I realize that Muslims even within their own community will not agree about everything but in my perception when it comes to Muslim vs. Non-Muslims they seem mostly to stand up for each other. Why is this? Is it nepotism? You may ask, why I ask this. Well to my perception when it comes to Israel they are always the bad guys. When it comes to countries that have a dominant Muslim population & a country like the US gets involved, we're the bad guys. And there are the protests and so on and such forth. But when acts of terrorism happen in the name of Islam or a Muslim country tries to subvert or overthrow another country to set up a theocracy, there is very little crying out of the injustice of it all. Again, this is my perception but I sincerely believe if Muslims were not Muslims they would not be overly sympathetic or quite about Muslim vs. Non-Muslim issues. Because of this fact I do not think it is easy for them to understand & be as tolerant and sympathetic to Non-Muslims.

Did jesus ever claim to be the son of god? Did he ever say directly "i am the son of god".

And i am confused... is jesus(PBUH) was born in the middle east ... then why do you make his picture(do you really know how he looks like) of him being white? shouldnt he be a little towrds a darker skin... but what ever the skin i dont care... How do you know how he really looks like?

I Respect jesus (PBUH), but i don't see him as son of god.

Other Question:

Why would god have a human looking son.. arent humans sinfull and impure?

Why would god be a male or female (you say hes a male) does that mean women are degraded?

Why would god be a human form? and if he was why would he make us humans? humans are not pure

If Jesus has taken all sin away with him.. this means i can be a Christan's and do all the sins i do and still will be allowed to go into heaven? And if yes that makes no sense

Did Jesus say that he was son of god?

If god has a son why not a daughter? Doesn't that mean women aren't important as men?
