I have known a few Christians to secretly believe in this concept. But because of certain emperors, like Justinian, and Popes, like Pope Innocent the 3rd who killed over a half of a million Cathars for their belief in reincarnation, most of this previously believed doctrince has been wiped out. From what I hear there are more Christians that believe in this than most people know because they do not want flak from their churches and or peers by professing so.

I believe present day versions of Christianity are still heavily influenced by the effects of the Roman Empire that used the once peaceful religion to control the masses. Without fear, stemming from the doctrine of everlasting hell, it would have been to difficult control the masses. If you can control the peoples thoughts you can control the peoples actions.

give any conception of the Life- after-death, the Day of Judgment, Rewards and Punishments in the Hereafter ?

The Quran merely reminds, and it is up to individual to, Experiment, Explore…not only of sending ‘shuttles’ far above, but also examine here on earth, your Cradle.

In Quran there is a verse which says:-

I have seen in the religion section of yahoo answers that the non-religious people are very mean with the people who has a religious belief, calling them names like idiots, morons etc... i mean if religious is not important to u then why are u wasting your time calling bad names to those who choose to believe?

But also some religious people call bad names to those who choose not to have a faith, well, this also doesnt give a good name to the people who should talk about God and his love when they cant love and/or respect the decision of the people who dont want to believe in God, big deal !!

So why can´t everyone take care of their own business and leave a person alone? if they want to believe in a God or not it should be a big deal, dont try to make a war out of this.

What if when you wake up tomorrow morning you thought that god woke up in the middle of the night and ask you to follow him and help lead his people. You were unsure if it was a dream or real, then later that day while talking to friends you realized all of you had the same experience. If this really happed to you would it be hard to be a non-believer.

Hmm..what has Jesus done for me lately,

Well there was that rainshower we had the other day. You know that thing called weather? Well that was nice because its been kinda dry and hot around here for awhile.
Do you find its easier to be religious now that you're in a comfortable place? Were you hugging a bible while you were homeless?

I wonder how happy people in africa would be if you were to show up with a truck full of bibles for them. If they had to choose to pick one item and it could be either a loaf of bread or one of your bibles, which do you think they would choose?

Why would your loving god make them choose in the first place? Why doesn't he do for the rest of the world what he has apparently done for you?

Why are you so special that you deserve notice from him while the rest of the world suffers?

Oh wait I forgot..you were a homeless druggie. Well at least now you're spending your money on clothes and fast food.

Why the "civil" world describe Muslims & Islam by terrorists, although the war in Lebanon & innocents children killing has been done & still continual by jews in cooperation with western Christians, so, is it realy the Christianity is terrorists? , if the answer is no & I do believe its no because I'm a Christian, then why this western world keep describing Muslims by terrorists although they killed more than innocents has been killed in September11.
No excuses could be work, realy I feel shame about that.

If God is supposed to be EVERYTHING... all seeing, hearing, knowing, merciful, just plain everything... then why is there suffering, poverty, destruction, war, disease, famine, rape, murder, etc? Huh? Why is God so reveared as being a savior and reveared for being so good to man, that He created in his own image, and reveared for putting us here, and reveared for supposed "miracles???" Why do people worship someone that is only WRITTEN to have exsisted??? Why is God thought of as a "God?" Why would God create something that would be meant as a way to kill other of God's creations? Why wouldn't God make the world a happy, peaceful place... instead of the one we have now? Why do other religons have different "Gods" that say different things from any other God? Why does one "God" tell someone to crash a plane into a building that holds a ton of people killing those said people? Why are we the way we are?

I want hard facts... not just opinions. I already have opinions.

Before i begin my question ... I wish to let u guys know i m not a Christian. One of my frnds recently "converted" herself. But some of her things that she said about Bible really surprised me. She said the following I m getting doubt on:

1. There is nothing called 'soul' according to bible.
2. There is no places as 'heaven'
3. No place called 'hell'.

I heard that in Bible also Christ had mentioned about soul, heaven or hell. What my question is:
Is the Bible she is refering really Authentic. For all Scriptures and holy books there are many unverified/fake editions available. In the Authentic one do we have descriptions of Soul, Heaven and hell?

If so, pls let me know the exact Chapter and Verses so that I can guide her.

If her Bible is not correct pls let me know which1 shud I suggest her to refer?

You need to read my previous questions on prophets to understand this question. First I was told that the test of a real prophet was accuracy of predictions. When I pointed out this would disqualify the likes of Joseph and Ezekiel, I was told that no, accuracy is not important, and the real test is "by their fruits ye shall know them". Show me how to apply this test so I can tell real from false prophets.

What does this verse from the Bible mean? “If any man come to me, and not hate his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sister, yet, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple” (Luke 14:26).
If taken literally, it seems to mean hate your family. Considering alot of people take a good portion of the Bible figuratively, what would it mean then?
