Someone said this to me today, and I don't totally understand what greater purpose someone would have in Heavan. Are there biblical references to this kinda thing?

U have to define what is the purpose first so that u understand the greater purpose. Well. The problem with us is that we try to measure things which are beyond our comprehension with the help of scales which are totally inadequate for the purpose.Try to understand that Heaven is not within our known coordinates. May be 'purpose' may have an entirely different connotation there. So the answer to your question is that there is no answer that can be conveyed. The answer has to be searched and 'realized'. Yes, by yourself .

I have a bit of a theory. You actually think Earth is the only world he created? That would be useless. Using your power only once in that way... So I'm saying he made OTHER worlds. Some are doing fine... and others aren't. What does God want some people to do? He wants them to go there and help em out... sort of like angels, but in a more direct manner. People who are willing to leave Heaven for a short while and then come back after helping that particular world out. It wouldn't even have to be a world. A small city, or person... would be just fine. So you can give them the life that was denied to you. And uncle.bubba... you don't know how right you are.

The purpose is to create funds for churches. I don't see any Eastern faiths like Buddhism, Jainism or Taoism use the same promise to heaven and threatening hell to their followers. They never gone to wars with anyone on religions nor fought over rituals/ interpretations and leaders amongst themselves.

Who need heaven as described religious books? 72 virgins for suicide bombers? You mean there are woman with hymens? You really believe we still have a physical bodies to enjoy sex? You really believe Jesus Christ was raised to heaven with physical body as witnessed by many as in Bible?

So helium balloons would be residing in heaven. Get Real!

Rather "burn" ( as describe in the Bible) with those holy people who harm no one. Just because they never heard of the gospel or disbelieve in Jesus, they are not entitled to be heaven?

Let us kick the butts of Satan and send him back where he belongs to : Heaven! Where hardcore criminals who repented and accepted Jesus are staying ........

Being in Heaven means that your Soul / Inner Self has being liberated forever from the Cycle of Birth / Rebirth. To be in Heaven is stripping away all what you consider important or VIP status is our world. All souls are equal & with one aim of being with the Maker.

Where is heaven? Up above the sky, beyond the universe? Who can prove the existence of heaven?

If it was possible to have a greater purpose in Heaven, then it wouldn't be the ideal place. That doesn't jive.

greater purpose? perhaps a perfected purpose. i think people will be perfected in heaven, but that we don't have a clear concept of perfection yet. our purpose in heaven will be aligned with God's purpose, so i guess it's a greater purpose although i would consider it to be more of a perfected purpose.

The Bible tell us of the one purpose in Heaven is worship of our God. But the gospel of Jim says :) that God will create tasks for us to do and we will be thrilled to be in His service to do those tasks... Jim

seems like I remember something about certain people earning many crowns, but I can't say for sure. I think the guy is right though, everyone is to worship God for eternity.
