I have seen in the religion section of yahoo answers that the non-religious people are very mean with the people who has a religious belief, calling them names like idiots, morons etc... i mean if religious is not important to u then why are u wasting your time calling bad names to those who choose to believe?
But also some religious people call bad names to those who choose not to have a faith, well, this also doesnt give a good name to the people who should talk about God and his love when they cant love and/or respect the decision of the people who dont want to believe in God, big deal !!
So why can´t everyone take care of their own business and leave a person alone? if they want to believe in a God or not it should be a big deal, dont try to make a war out of this.

your point is more than valid. Name calling childish, I have been guilty of it myself, but I speak for myself when I say that when someone disrespects my belief system which is just as valid as anyone elses, I get a little ticked off being told that I'm wrong. I'm an agnostic, I believe that there is a god or higher power, I believe in spirituality maybe not in the same sense as a christian but I it doesn't make me wrong. It annoys me when these holier than thou people get on here and say that Islam is wrong, that it is a brutal religion, that the Jews are wrong, that everyone but them are wrong. My view on other religions is that what ever makes you happy and fulfilled as a person, what ever brings you greater enlightenment is brilliant in my book, but don't tell me I'm wrong if you don't share the same view.
I applaud you on your views and it's nice to see that a christian can have the same views as me.

This isn't exactly an answer... just agreement! Most religions have some form of the golden rule, and I don't think there are too many individuals out there that LIKE to be trashed by other people for their belief system. I hope that those doing the trashing will one day realize how damaging and hurtful their remarks can be. If they don't get that by their own intelligent realization, I hope they'll get a taste of their own medicine as a wake up call!
In cyber space, sticks and stones may not break bones, but names can certainly hurt me (or anyone else). There are real people on the receiving end of comments!

Because it's a place for answers and even in other areas of Yahoo Answers people chop each other down and come back with retorts!
Let us NOT forget EDNA!
It would, however, be nicer if the Religious people, including me, had better quips!
I mean I've seen some great retorts elsewhere!
Some people really know how to slap a person down with something hillarious, yet oh, so true!
Here it is taken a bit personal!
Maybe that's because it's like insulting your father or mother or sister.
The fact of the matter is Science disgards their own quickly. One day Darwin will be persona non gratus in Science and all those here quoting Darwin will act like PEter. It wasn't me you saw. I don't know him!I never Beleive in DArwin, I always knew he was a fraud!
Yeah, right!
Sigmund Freud was once the darling of Psychiatric circles and the ONLY method in the asylums. Today he's persona non gratis!
All his theories and methods are bunk!
One day that may happen to Darwin, so everyone remember the names of all the people quoting him so you can stick it into their faces on the day Science says Darwin was an idiot!
See, that's a fun thing to do to people who say
Those who believe in God are Morons and Idiots!
The fact is, EVERYONE has their own MORONS, because they can't think for themselves, they have to quote something.
That's why I rarely quote the bible. I paraphrase the best.
What's wrong with Love and Tolerance?
No one has an aswer for that!

I think it's because people continue to ask questions. When people ask questions, they get answers. Not everyone agrees on the answer. They dispute the answer. After a few back and forths, people get annoyed.
Of course, there are the people who are just trying to pick a fight, a lot of the time, they're the ones who cause others to go through the process above.
As long as there's an issue people care about and differ in their interpretation of it, there's going to be heated conflict.

sure. that's genuine. Theists enable their wondering to be guided by technique of emotion to a significantly better volume than do Atheists. you are able to extremely see this contained in the sorts of reasonings and arguments that theists use. as an party, I undergo in innovations reading a controversy for God's existence in a Watchtower ebook that became certainly all emotional and no common sense. It went something like this: 'Atheism delivers no authentic desire. If there is not any God then this existence is all there is and there is little which means to existence except basically ingesting reproducing and demise. yet concept in God supplies us a hopeful destiny . . .' (i'm not quoting note for note, notwithstanding the argument went something like that) Do you be conscious the folly in such reasoning? the author became certainly making use of human emotion and needs to ascertain what to beleive somewhat than objectively weighing data. that's virtually as if the author became saying that Theism should be followed as a concept gadget simply by the indisputable fact that's more effective palatable than the bare reality that this existence is all there is. he's saying that we ought to continuously drink ourselves less than the impact of alcohol with Theism so as that we may be able to spoil out from the ugly implications of there not being a God. A in straightforward words emotional argument. Is that how we arrive at reality? by technique of believing what we prefer to believe because we are unwilling to confront fact? Atheists on the different hand, have a tendency to guage data objectively and dispassionately.

This site serves as an outlet of varied opinions and values. Some are serious with what they say while others try to make fun of others and the ( small percentage?) others just want to gain additional points. All and all, this site is very famous- religious or not.

It is a big deal. I think religion and backward thinking religious people are holding back the advancement of humanity. Why do so many people base their lives on a 2000 year old book of fairy tales? Science should replace superstition. Religion had it's run -- now that science is advancing, we need to move on from mythology.

You're right, of course, but some people need an excuse to pick on others. Poor self-esteem, maybe. It doesn't bother me when people do it to me; I understand they're simply ignorant and ill-mannered. But I am concerned for those who are more impressionable. It sends a very confusing message.

Both sides have their share of morons. And the sad part is that those fools are usually the ones who are the loudest. There is a certain wisdom in silence - one these people never practice.

Good point, but the religious people are leaving us alone either. Since you people know religion isn't important to us, why then do you keep preaching?
