In Islam, you have to wait till periods are over, could be it a week or more then take a shower before you pray or touch Quran.

Yes they can but, wouldnt it be a better idea not to, just to show some respect of the Holy Book? Like someone said, its in their Old Testament not to touch or pray, but sadly its changed by people.

I have read nothing in my King James bibe that would indicate a woman is forbidden from touching or reading a bible or from praying during her menstrual emission. It was created by God and is a natural part of a womans life. Surely a God of love would not distance Himself from a woman because of a condition He created.

Regarding after making love;

God created the love making between male and female as a means to bond them in a close relationship. Jesus refined that by stating clearly it was proper for a man or woman to have only one spouse. That made it a true commit to the one spouse, forsaking all others.

The man and woman were to be the foundation of a family unit with or without children.
Also, it is fitting that a woman would be told to wait five days to a week before being close to her husband or "clean". Some people don't know it but a womans natural cycle causes her to be most fertile five to ten days after the menstrual blood stops flowing. After about ten days apart a husband and wife would be feeling rather lonely and would want to be romantically close.

Right?

Well that is exactly the time of the month when the woman is most likely to be able to conceive a baby. God wanted people to fill the earth and that was the best way to do it. In old testament times there were many diseases and wars that took peoples lives at a young age, so they needed to have large families to survive.

The God I have come to know is a loving, caring God who wants us to be happy. And that includes woman!!!!

Hope that helps.

Christianity isn't really strict with this. A womans period isn't something really talked about 'don't ask, don't tell'. However, in Judiasm, depending on what kind, they follow the old ways. Where not only what you mentioned is true, but a woman cannot sleep in the same bed as her husband. Basically she is cut off for that time being and for a week or so after, because she has to be cleansed. I think theoreticlly when Jesus died, he cleansed the earth of such things. Because the people no longer had to phsically be cleaned, because they were now spiritually clean.
I think this is all right. But can't be quoted on it.

I am not sure where you people are getting your information, however.....Women can't pray during their menses that's true. But Christians, please don't forget that we pray in a different manner than you. Prayer for us is very physical, We can, however make supplication which is basically how Christians pray. We can supplicate anytime and almost anywhere.

If you read the Qu'ran daily you can read it during your period. And you don't neccessarily need to have your wudu to read a translated version of the Quran. And to the people who say that women are dirty when they have their menses....There is NO WHERE in the Quran or Sunnah that says this. This is an emotional time for women and with all of womens responsibilities prayer would be very stressfull. God doesn't want to put more on his servants than they can handle (Allah walem).

And so I leave you with this.....When God created Eve, Adam was asleep and when women give birth to thier children they are awake. This shows that women can handle emotional shock better than men and they have their periods and need time to heal.

Not wishing to offend anyone else's beliefs, but personally I can't believe that God considers the natural function of a woman's body, which He created after all, to be impure or unclean. In fact, as this is also a natural function connected with good health, procreation (a miracle if any such thing really exists), chastity (as virgins will always menstruate as they cannot get pregnant) and the prime of life, then it is a sacred thing.

As for sex, whether for a man or woman it should be seen the same way. This also is a natural act, should always be an expression of love even if not always of a monogomous, lifetime commitment and is also essential to the miracle of procreation.

I think that worship and the handling of holy texts should not in any way be banned in association with these vital expressions of natural human sexual health.

Iam a boy, but I think this has nothing to do with the spiritual understanding of the Bible or any Holy book, just becuase we put our minds to God and Pray. And we firmly believe that God answers our prayers. Thats a natural cycle that happens to every girl, her mind requires peace and prosperity all the time. I strongly oppose such ideas of secluding women from touching the Holy Books.

What if a bleeding man touches a Holy Book ?

Jesus healed the woman with the issue of blood for 12yrs.

Jesus said to enter into your prayer closet and not to be like the heathen standing on the corner or praying repetitious prayers. As long as you have a need for prayer God is always open and listening to you.

Just talk to him like you would talk to me or anyone else and always close the prayer in Jesus Name as it is written:

John 14:6 (KJV)
Jesus saith unto Him I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Yet, this picture the Bible presents IS consistent with Biblical truth, that there is only one intercessor between God and man, Jesus Christ [1 Timothy 2:5] ...

Mensus is so surrounded with myth and superstition that in many religions it is a "cursed", "impure" "impious" period. But Bible is clear.A bleeding woman touched Jesus and was healed.
Christians or others can touch Bible and pray at anytime.
Mark 5:25-34.
Couple can pray immediately before and after sex.

I've heard that in many religions, holy items aren't to be handled by women during their period. Or by women at any time! What nonsense! The God who created us surely didn't create women only to deny them the right to know and love and honor him. All the silliness about uncleanliness was made up by people, not God, during a time when they were getting carried away with man-made restrictions and religiosity, instead of focusing on their Creator.
