I have seen alot of "before the big bang" questions used as a proof of god.

Pretty good article here on before the big bang. Non technical paper mostly. Builds on string theory, and makes alot of sense. What ya'll think?

My wife used to physically abuse me but now it's only
verbal. Over the years it has lessened (I think) or maybe i have
growbn accustomed to it. Anyway, I see a trail of emotional bashing
towards my children. I have been reluctant to divorce becasue I was
afraid she would get custody and then they would be unprotected,
wheras now I can console them afterwards. But I think I have enough
documentation now that I may get custody if I "go to war".
Now my wife seems to have been abusive less frequently, although I
know it's a matter of time befor ethe next explosion. She has refused
to go to the doctor and get medicine. I think she is bipolar/manic
depressive. We've been to several counselors but she always quits
going whenever they finally realize SHE needs to be responsible.
The other thing that has held me back from divorce is my strong
religious convictions. Yet I don't want to allow my kids to be
subject to her wrath. So tell me: should I stay or should I go?

"He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father," John 14:12

And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well."
Mark 16:17-18

I have been reading my bible everyday but my bf still gets frustrated with me because I don't always interperet some of the passages the same way he does.

I have found that I can read the same part over and over again and depending on my situation that day whats going on in my life it has meant different things to me to get through the good and the bad times

It is very serious about his christianity and I love how passionate he is about it.

are there any sites out there that will clarify christianity to me? Help me get a better understanding of where he is coming from?

Quran insists that Mohammed was only a man, and he died some 14 centuries ago. Mohammed is history and the Quran is the Word of Allah and there is no God worthy of worship but Allah.

Is it possible to "act" Christian (IE- No sex until marriage, attend church regularly, not watch violent/negative movies, serve mainkind/God and not work for money/possessions) and live in mainstream society? Or are those practices too old fashion and unrealistic?

For example: You'll be talking with someone about religion. You'll ask, "What religion are you?" They'll reply, "I'm Christian." ('Christian' is not a religion. It's a belief system.) Only after pressing them will they tell you, "I'm Baptist." Is it something their religious leaders tell them to say? I've seen both Romanian, Hungarian, and American Baptists all do the same thing.

Jesus said the only unforgivable sin is Blasphmy of the Holy Spirit. He also said in the bible that He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy. He also said, Judge not or you will be judged (paraphrased) Which basically means judging the soul.
Passage Exodus 20:13:

13`Thou dost not murder. is the literal translation.
I dunno, Is there an answer

Jehovah's Witnesses did it in 1925, because they thought that Abraham and others would revive in that date. What is your opinion?

I have read a lot of questions and answers here dealing with such issues as creationism vs. evolution or whether there is a god, etc., that seem to proceed from a basic misunderstanding of what science is, i.e., what questions science attempts to answer, and how science goes about trying to answer these questions, as opposed to what questions religion attempts to answer, and how religion goes about answering questions. Does anybody agree that this problem is part of the reason why people on both sides of these debates seem to have difficulty understanding each other?
