Isn't Christianity about unconditional love and acceptance?

I don't think every Christian person is rude. There is a small minority that truly live by the principles of Christianity, but they are so overshadowed by the more hateful Fundamentalists, and that's a shame.

To Tom: Atheism doesn't claim to be about unconditional love and acceptance, the way Christianity claims. Yes, there are rude atheists, but they don't claim to be anything they're not, unlike Christians.

To Ambassador: YES, REALLY!!

You obviously haven't seen many people who claim to be Christian using expression such as "f*** you!" and "eat me" etc.

By no means should you take my word for it. If you have any sense of fairness you will look around and see for yourself. Otherwise, you're just in deep denial.

To Ambassador again: On your last paragraph, accusing non-Christians of pushing their beliefs on Christians is like the big fat pot calling the kettle black.

2006-07-25 12:41:31 · update #4

To those who protest that the non-believers behave worse, I reject that justification, because it is simply justifying one bad behavior with another.

There's also a difference: Non-believers don't make claims of being better people than they are. Christians do, and THAT'S the reason you are being called on it with this question.

Thank you for posting this. Christianity IS about unconditional love and acceptance, and I ask that anyone who reads this post and calls themselves a Christian to be sincere and respectful when you disagree. You do not have to agree. But you do not have to call them names or be rude about it.

As Christians, we need to live our lives by returning kindness even when given evil. Doesn't the Bible say to not repay evil with evil, but return evil with Good?

Walk in love and you may win your brother over yet.

But to the person that asked this question, I've seen disrespect coming from both sides. It's just that we tend to get more annoyed at the people who disagree with us that are rude. I've found a lot of people who are not Christians who are very disrespectful as well.

If you and I agree to act civil to those who respond poorly we can turn this placed around for good.

With all due admire, allow me begin out by means of announcing that the announcement does now not whatsoever follow to all atheists. But, seem at what number of questions from atheists begin out by means of insulting the intelligence of Christians. That's how they open up. Their responses also are stuffed with assaults at the sanity or mind of christians. Or seem at what number of reply, alternatively of with whatever confident to mention, "it is all a myth besides" or "it ain't truly nohow". Granted there are a few at the different part who instantly condemn each person to hell (which honestly does not exist as so much suppose it to) however it is rather alternatively lopsided. But, do not take my phrase for it. Just watch the discussion board for your self. (and now watch the thumbs down start) ======= I'd be occupied with listening to your view after you've gotten made your observations.

I agree with you. Many so called Christians can be rude. That's why it is so hard to win someone to Jesus. They got their eyes on the so called Christians and say, If that"s a christian, i want no part of it. A true born again Christian will have love in their heart for others. They will be there for them in times of trouble. When God saved me, he changed me. I became a new person. I want to live my life pleasing to Him.Many people have done me wrong. They claimed to be saved. All i can do is pray for them, that God will get hold of their heart.

So, you think we Christians aren't human? You think we can sit back and let some just talk about G-d the way they do? Do we not have rights too?

They can say all they want to about me, my family, friends, but I am on the warpath when they talk about a HOLY G-d who gave His only begotten Son for them.

Christianity is about serving a living G-d that we have accepted at His Word. It is a way of life.
Please be patient w/us, He is not finished with us yet.

Actually some of us are worse than the unsaved......now, me......I AM THE LEAST in the Kingdom of G-d, yet He still puts up with me.

I haven't seen any rude Christians on here. It seems the other way around to me. The so called atheists and Godless people are the rude, inconiderate ones. That is judgement, and Lord forgive me for it, but on this site, I have to defend my Christianity in language the Godless understand.

i think that people see what they want to see..i haven't seen any messages FROM Christians with the filth, obscenity, and sheer verbal abuse that has been sent TOWARDS them...of course, i have seen some responses that HAVE been rude, and i have, myself, snapped off a sarcastic line or two which was not helpful or respectful, and when i got called on it, i was embarrassed, and did have just enough sense to apologize...but i have had a LOT of verbal garbage tossed my way...that's life... to my fellow Christians, let's try to remember, being insulted is NOTHING compared to what the early Christians endured, or what Christians around the world endure on a daily basis...

Oh it's SUPPOSED to be but when you read this forum enough, you'll soon find out that thier motto is "do as I say, not as I do".
Take 'whynotaskdon''s answers as a perfect example of that.
Not only is he rude and poorly-educated, he ridicules people for posting intelligent questions about christianity, while carefully avoiding any opportunity to answer the question.

Wow! have you read ANY of the Athiest material? Ok.. there are some that seem fairly well balanced... but many more that seem to just ask provocative questions (not really seeking knowledge or information... just insulting language).

Being Christian is not necessarily being perfect... we're still human.

Usually people who lack knowledge are the most rude and have attitude swings from arrogance and self-righteousness. That's because they blindly assume that what they know is enough and can't be challenged. I've been to several christian organizations/denominations by invitation and that's what i noticed.
