Theists often say that believing in the big bang theory or evolution theory is ridiculous but, they don't think it's ridiculous to believe that God did it. Could someone please explain the "God did it" theory to me? Or is "God did it" just another way of saying "I don't know"?

The Bible defines a miracle as something that defies the laws of nature. Muslims claim the Koran is a miracle merely because it was allegedly transmitted perfectly without alteration and flaw till the second coming. Since the Harry Potter books will certainly be transmitted perfectly without alteration or flaw, and be around until the second coming.

It states the laws marking the separation between Israel and the heathen (condensed- o.k?) if that is so shouldn’t you Christians be in Jerusalem right now defending them against Hezbollah? Simplistic I know but I am trying to keep it well, simple…

This includes witches, ghosts, esp, spirits, and other unexplained phenomena. If so why and where is your evidence. Hearsay and conjecture don't count.

They really don't. It's just all the s h i t that they read in the bible and memorize it to seem wise. The people I consider wise have a mind of their own.

I'm just curious if Jesus or his followers were more likely to be quoted as declaring wars in the name of God. I know that one of the 10 commandments is Thou shalt not kill, but I assume there are some examples of wars being declared in the Bible. I am curious whether Jesus in particular was quoted for these.

I just formed an LLC. I'm the only member, and so taxes are only paid once, through me. It seems to make sense to treat tithes the same way, and just take 10% off the top, BUT all of the gross revenue isn't to be treated as personal income, of course--some money stays with the business, and some comes to me as pay. I supposed I could tithe once for the business, and then again on what I take home. What's the right thing to do?

What do you think? This is the way they taught according to a quote from St Ignatius of Antioch (a student of the apostle, John, who also traveled some with Sts. Peter and Paul and was appointed Bishop of Antioch by St. Peter, himself);

"See that ye all follow the bishop, even as Jesus Christ does the Father, and the presbytery (priests)as ye would the apostles; and reverence the deacons, as being the institution of God. Let no man do anything connected with the Church without the bishop. Let that be deemed a proper Eucharist, which is [administered] either by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude [of the people] also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church. It is not lawful without the bishop either to baptize or to celebrate a love-feast; but whatsoever he shall approve of, that is also pleasing to God, so that everything that is done may be secure and valid."

I have always, for my whole life and to the best of my ability, been the good little Catholic girl. Catholic education, church every week, I even lector. The worst sin I think I ever committed was stealing candy from a grocery store when I was young.

But then something terrible happened. I met a man, we fell in deep, spiritual, life-changing love. We got engaged, we will be married next year. And, unfortunately, we were a little too impatient to wait around until the honeymoon. I'm now 6 months pregnant. Invariably, this has affected my status in my parish. I recieved a letter from my pastor asking me to cease my lectoring until I was in a valid Catholic marriage.

...Marriage? What does marriage have to do with anything to do with it? It will not change the fact that I had sex before marriage, nor will it alter the fact that this child was concieved out of wedlock. We were planning to be married anyway, but can someone explain that logic to me?

If I believed in god, he would be gangsta. Look how many people he kills each day. Poor children in Africa. What god would let that happen and if you say it's people doing it, why would god make a people that let others starve ?

Does it make sense that I can speak to God through the flesh of any person that is in surrender to God?
If God speaks to us from with in and confirmation comes from the spoken and written word then is God avalible for converation at any time out of "Christians, since He is alive and well in each of us?"

Someone just proposed this to me, " If there were no God, there would be no atheists". But why are there still atheists that deny it?

Im not being a smart-aleck here or trying to bash people who dont belive, I enjoy a good argument and like to see all opinions. So PLEASE keep the "bashing" down, this includes my fellow Christians. Lets try to be respectful.
