They really don't. It's just all the s h i t that they read in the bible and memorize it to seem wise. The people I consider wise have a mind of their own.

I am a Christian and I couldn't agree more! The Bible does have a lot of wisdom, but God gave us brains in our heads too and rote memorization doesn't make anyone wise - it just makes you a parrot. You need to understand that wisdom and live it out in an appropriate way to be really wise. And it's ironic that Christians come off as having all the answers when in actual fact, the Bible is absolutely full of true believers who had a lot of unanswered questions. Personally, I don't feel like I have all the answers, but I'm OK with that becasue my faith gives me a confidence that I don't need to have all the answers becasue God does and he has my best intrests at heart. When you know that you are not the centre of the universe and that there's someone bigger than you, it gives you the freedom to relax even when you have things you can't figure out.

who told you that they do? is that from a reliable statistics that all christians think they have all the anwers in life? I bet. NOT EVEN right? and guess what NOT all christians have the answers but some of them do. And my my my. They can sleep soundly at night because they know that what they know is the TRUTHAnd dear, watch it. The Bible is not a piece of ****. Those who understand it and STUDY it; being able to memorize as they go along some verses are the WISE ONEs. It's like this, girl. READ WELL. YOu think thsoe people from Harvard or wherever are the wise ones ? You think those who follow their own thinking are wise? Who is WISe??? ahhhh. Those who SEEK the KINGDOM first coz in the end of this earth w/c is pretty soon...they laugh last. And watch it. JUST WATCH IT. If you can't have respect for the Bible then JUST GET LOST. I hate being this way but you can't just call the Bible names. Whether you believe in it or not. Shame on you...you have the littlest sense of human warmth and respect for what other people believes in.

We have an awesome answer book and we use it to guide our life. However, we don't have all the answers and that's why we pray.

Think about it: How can you rebuke a lie if you don't know the truth? Here's a suggestion, read the Bible and see if it doesn't change your life. It's not only true (other History books back it up with facts) but look at the good you could do for others around you.

No one in the past 2,000 years has been able to disprove the Holy Bible...ever wonder why?

What is so wrong about loving a Loving God and loving one another? Is that really so terrible? Why is that so hard to understand?

Even when you don't "believe" doesn't change the fact; God loves you. He is pursuing you. He seeking you for a relationship. God/Jesus is calling for you, will you answer?

Religion is man's way of trying to reach God.

Relationship is God's way of reaching us, through Jesus Christ.

Grace to you and God Bless...

P.S. The Bible tells us (Christians) not to be judgemental. "We shall be judged by the same measurement in which we judge."

What you do w/ your life is your business. That's between you and God. Not me, you and God. You've got a straight line to him. Only he knows your heart.

Why does this bother you? If you dont like what they have to say then stop listening. And alot of Christians do have a good point about things. They r just telling you what they have learned and read, they dont think they have all the answers in life. And whats the since in even debating the topic, you would come up with many more arguments and so would they. No one would win, so just leave well enough alone.

They believe they have all the answers because the Bible basically addresses all aspects of life. They believe the Bible to be the absolute sole "Word of God" given to divinely inspired men. With this in mind, it's no wonder many Christians have such strong beliefs.

My question to the asker is this: Christians have chosen to follow the religion of Christianity. I havn't met one Christian who was forced to become one. They have made up their mind. They have a mind of their own, and they've chose faith. What problem do you have with this? It's only natural to express your point of view, so why is it when Christians try to express themselves, they get shot down by liberals such as yourself? I have an open mind, but I don't slander opposing viewpoints simply because I don't like what they say. Unless they are a threat to themselves or society, let them express themselves. Likewise, express yourself in a civilized manner, and you may not change their worldview, but you'll better understand it, and therefore you'll better understand your own.

Think about it...

Christians do not have all of the answers. They think they do, but they do not. They do not analyze the Bible properly and they take it too literally. I am a Catholic and I have been taught by my church that you have to analyze the Bible and think for yourself. Sometimes the Bible is not always right. Every religious book out there has some kind of problem in it. It is not just the Christian Bible.

And why do people in this forum generalize so often?

First, we Christians know we don't have all the answers. But we know Who does, and we meet with Him all the time, and seek His guidance and His wisdom for our lives. After all, He teaches us this:

"Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to everyone generously without a rebuke, and it will be given to him. But he must ask in faith, without any doubts, for the one who has doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. Such a person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. He is a double-minded man, unstable in all he undertakes." (James 1:5-8)

But there is a "wisdom" that is really foolishness. This is the wisdom that comes from the world and its system.

"For the message about the cross is nonsense to those who are being destroyed, but it is God's power to us who are being saved. For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the intelligence of the intelligent I will reject." Where is the wise person? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? God has turned the wisdom of the world into nonsense, hasn't he? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know God, God decided through the nonsense of our preaching to save those who believe." (I Corinthians 1:18-21)

Of course, with the bias built into your question, I have fallen into your clever trap by quoting from the Bible, which for you "proves" I don't have a mind of my own. Personally, I am flattered by that comment. I seek not my own, but Christ's. So, thank you for the encouragement.

Unfortunately there are people who think they're better than others, but Jesus actually warns against this type of attitude..Next time someone throws Bible verses at you, remind them of this story;-)

"To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable:
"Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.'
"But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.'
"I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
(Gospel of Luke 18.)

Not all Christians think that they have all the answers; an arrogant attitude just shows that someone does not see themselves.

I think they believe that because of their faith and the bible. The bible IS the answer to everything for a real christian.

Not only do they think they have all of the answers,
In the U.S., they impose their fantasy beliefs by passing laws that are in furtherance of these beliefs.
People can believe whatever they want.

All I want is NEUTRALITY.
I don't want laws to state that there is no god.
I don't want laws to state that there is a god.
I don't want laws that impose religious beliefs.

Accordingly, in the interest of peace and neutrality,
I would appreciate it if ALL people would join in
TO REMOVE THE WORD "GOD" FROM MONEY
TO REMOVE THE WORD "GOD" FROM THE PLEDGE
TO REMOVE THE WORD "GOD" FROM OATHS

It seems to me that unless Christians are willing to do this,
then they are not interested in NEUTRALITY
and they are not RESPECTFUL of those they disagree with !
The U.S. Constitution contains language of NEUTRALITY !
"Congress shall pass no law, etc."
