do some people realize that when someone ask a question regarding christian faith, he gets an answer such as "go read the Bible". does this person who is telling me to go read the Bible knows that it's almost 800 pages?

Hebrews 2:9 -

My question is how do i get over the fear of rejection in meetiing new people?
I understand that i have GOD Iin my Life and Loving Jesus first and learning more of his word, is where i never looked before, I WANT TO FIND A CHURCH a christian group to join and learn and make friends too, I am very empty inside, i am not lookiing for a romance, or husband, yet if a man came along with the same values, and we had things in common i might be iinterested, The problem i have is taking the first step, i am shy, not as young as i use to be and i am overweight, not obese, i just have no confidence, i really want to participate in life again, i have been practically a hermit, and only around people who are different and only need something from me, i want to be around people who value good friendships, and then earn one. any suggestions on how to begin, i have even once picked a church, got ready and then got cold feet, panick attack went home, cried and prayed for confidence.

Capital Punishment or the Death Penalty is wrong and not justified. All life is sacred. Life must be protected from conception until natural death. Jesus's death on the cross taught us about love. Revenge is never justified. Jesus showed us a different way. He came and replaced the death penalty law found in the Old Testament. We now have a way to protect society with life imprisonment.
How come mercy is a dirty word for some Christians?

I have read a lot of questions trying to cite allegely scientific datas supporting some kind of belief and use it to disprove others. Have anyone found it to be relevant. I am a protestant and know or understand very little about catholic dogma. My boyfriend and his family are catholic and it is important to them that our wedding be recognized by the catholic church and God. He mentioned that I would have to be "baptized catholic," but I was baptized at my church when I was young, so I don't understand why I need a second baptism. Can anyone explain what must be done for the catholic church to honor our wedding as holy and acceptable? It's not that I'm unwilling to convert to catholocism, I just don't know what that exactly is going to mean for me.
