I believe people will respond to this question by saying they are more outraged by child abuse than animal abuse. However, I haven’t seen people being as vocal about their concern for children as they did for animals in the Michael Vick animal abuse case. This animal abuse case cause a national uproar and greatly increased contributions to animal rights groups.

What do you think needs to be done to get more national attention and contributions to children's organizations and to put pressure on judges to give harsh prison sentences to child abusers?

Side note: I love animals and completely support the need to prevent animal abuse.

They were talking about something a while back on the radio and there were a lot of angry people criticizing the host because he said people should show more emotion towards the prostitute as a human being than towards a dog as an animal. They were saying the dog did nothing wrong. Dogs have feelings just like humans do. My dog is my baby and I would kill anbody that hurt it. Stuff like that. They said that the prostitute deserved it for choosing her lifestyle. I personally would feel worse for the prostitute. (I'm a dog lover by the way, just got a puppy)

Not really a question but more of a general observation. In my day to day life I rarely strike up conversations with strangers or make eye contact with people on the underground or the street for fear of being invasive or being seen as a weirdo but here you see that people from all over the world are so glad to share their opinions and experiences. So here's a big smile to all of you, just for a little moment of shared humanity. :-)))

Goodnight!!

I'm 16 and I am in highschool. I have my eyebrow pierced, and everytime I do PE, I have to change out of my unifrom, put on my track pants and t shirt, and for some stupid reason I have to remove my eyebrow piercing. Our school has forbade us from bringing in deoderant, and furtheremore, we are not even allowed to shower afterwards, we have to simply get back in our uniform, and go to class. This so stupid. It's alright taking my piercing out, but putting it back in is very painful.
I don't think it should be compulsary to do PE (Gym)
Am I the only one who hates PE? Do you agree wth me that it is stupid that I have to remove my piercing, and that we cant bring deodorant and shower?
I get enough excercise because everyday, I cycle to school, 3 kilometres (or a little under 2 miles), and now and again, like once a week I cycle 8 kilometres (5 miles), and stop to take a drink of water, and cycle back the 8 kilometres back home (5 miles).
i'd love to hear your opinion on this, thanks

I have this problem dealing with people of other races when I converse with someone they will end up saying that I sound like a white boy but African Americans say that I'm educated. Using proper diction does not make anyone white.

I don't have many friends. I find it difficult to talk to people. Previously I used to stay at home in front of the TV / internet / drinking beer etc.. but lately I have started going to places by myself.. clubs, sporting activities, museums etc... I do what I like and no longer care what anyone thinks.. sometimes I spend the whole night in the club without talking to anyone.. sometimes I meet people but these aquaintances are only temporary... I stopped drinking alcohol.. now I only order juice.. red bull etc... when I am by myself I can observe other people much more and I have noticed that friends are usually just sheep copying each other...

I wrote my thoughts here... let me know what you think or share your experiences.. I would be interested to hear about it

I just started sixth form today, and i found it horrible. I wasn't very nervous, and, although i chatted to people, i found a lot of people unapproachable.

It's all girls, and they all came up from the high school, so nearly all of them know eachother. I hung around with a few girls, but they were not on my level at all.

I went to private school before and got on so well with everybody, but now this place is huge, its just so hard.

Obviously, its easier to talk to people when they're on their own, but thats not something that occurs often.

I was fine before!! But i don't want to go for the next two years without an in school social life.

Its not nerves inhibiting me, just please help me!

I really really don't want to go tomorrow, i've never felt like this before in my life.

Please help.

:)

This is a small experiment that I have been doing for the past month (8/1/07 - 9/1/07) on Yahoo! Answers.

I have reported a total of 100 questions that were against Yahoo! standards/guidelines. All questions were obviously against the guidelines, by using either hate speech, or simply making fun and mocking the subject group.
Of those 100:
25 were pro-gay(PG), 25 were anti-gay(AG), 25 were pro Christianity(PC), 25 were anti Christianity(AC).

I kept track of how long it took Yahoo! to respond to these reported abusues. Of the 25 Pro Gay, only 5 were even responded to and removed (4 day avg). Of the 25 Anti Gay, ALL 25 were removed (1 day avg). Of the 25 Pro Chris. , 15 were removed (2 day avg), and of the AC only 1 was removed (4 days).

Do you believe that Yahoo! is fair with its treatment to all people (liberal, conservative, Christian, atheist, etc? Or are you like me, and see the facts, that Yahoo! has become liberal and anti Christian?

What do you guys think?

My daughters aged 27 and 22 live and work or study in London and they both pay very high rents to live in bed-sit squalor. They even have to share their loos. The older girl has to pay her share of income tax on her earnings as well.

Lots of other young women of their age, especially unmarried mothers, are provided with free accommodation, paid for out of taxation, that is mostly new and built to a very high standard.

Sometimes I wonder if I gave them good advise when they were thinking of their futures. They could have spent their time in discos and pubs instead of sitting in their rooms doing home work for A levels.
