Spirit Wanderer, I think you're thinking of a bigot. Not a racist. But thanks for your thoughts.

Simple, they are hypocrites

It's hypocrisy unfortunately. They've starved for acceptance and equality (Which is fine), but it's gotten to the point that they've reached the other side of the extreme.

For example:
I'm a thin Size Activist. There's many people that I see that successfully lose weight. I'm fine with that, but many of them end up becoming weight bigots (Though they claim they accept themselves), which pisses me off. On the other hand, even though I'm defending everyone fat or thin, there's many fat people that I defend that openly hate thin people or even people that lose weight. I just want to kick them in the adam's apple. ^_^ (I'm a martial artist too by the way. :P)
Racial Equality? Same thing again. They will only defend a certain group, and even worse: They'll insult people of other groups in some cases. As if it is somehow better.

It's a sad trend, and it's something I've openly expressed my hatred for in my activism stances.

Remeber, however, that context has a lot to do with whether or not something is to be deemed offensive (With some exceptions).

Yeah, I think that people of all sorts are racist against each other. My mother is native American and my father is white and my step family is black. I have heard them all being racist in some way toward each others race whether it was in a jokingly way or hurtful way. I myself find myself joking with friends about different races. I think people need to get over the past and stop looking for reasons to be mad the world. Now, hate crimes and actual discrimination is a different story.

The biggest racists are those who take the loudest position against racism. The very ones who claim to hate racism are really the worst of all, so terms that you might consider racist are normal fare for them.

Last I knew, redneck was not a race. White trash is OK where whites make up the majority of the population, but black trash would be racist anywhere because of dual standards that give preference to minorities.

Well I personally think that people hate racism when It's directed towards them & people of their own race. I know that you're referring to blk people using the terms "redneck" & other things...I think for those who choose to use them feel a sense of payback of some sort or a sense of retaliation of some kind, Not knowing or realizing that their being just as cruel & racist as the other person.

if its a white person using those terms, it's called discrimination. its only racism if one race is describing another.

Unless you're a politically correct junkie - in which case, only white people are racists. Yawn. Everyone else is just exercising their constitutional right to free speech. Apparently.

(Yes people, I'm being VERY sarcastic in that last paragraph)

they have some connection with people of thos terms and don't feel that is is a derogitory remark.

many "bad words" start because someone started ranting about the term. if no one cares its just another adjective.

Hypocrasy...but also, racism is hate, and you hate racism, you're being racist against the racist, right? Not meaning anything 'bout it...

those are sub-populations of the same race (whites) and are often used by people of the same race. they aren't racial terms, so it's not racism. get it?

I am rasist. ANd dont care how many low points people can give here to me. I have reasons to be rasist. I know who make the 64% population on prisons in USA. So i have reasons. Many rasists say WE R NOT RASISTS. Dont believe them.
I was discriminated many times in USA by people who would never say on public that they r rasists. But that is fact, i was discrimintaed by that people.
