Places you remember being before you lost them. Places you are likely to have unconsciously set them down- the bathroom, kitchen table, table by the front door etc come to mind. And the floor around them. Under the sofa or chair cusions. In all the weird little pockets in your backpack
Did you change any of your clothes? Take off a shirt or jacket? if you did, look in them.
See if you can remember what you were doing before you lost them. Especially if something interrupted you or caught your attention. You might have set them down unconscioulsy there.
Good luck! My housemate lost his keys, and had to pay to get them replaced. Several months later, I was turning over the compost pile... they must have fallen out of his pocket!

first look at the place where you've been before
look around, nearby
then look farther out
look for a place to have your keys replaced/made

Oh my, I have heard that one over and over. Look in the last pair of pants that you had on. I will tell you, like I tell my husband, put them where they belong each time, then you will know where they are.
