Why do people continue to use this term? How am I supposed to know they are from Africa? Isn't that stereotyping? Did you know Dave Matthews from the Dave Matthews Band is more black than most "black" people living in America today? He was born and partially raised there! But no one insists on calling him African American. And why is it ok for people to call me white? I'm technically Polish American because like 15 generations ago, my family came from Poland. But the thing that pisses me off the most is people who claim to be 4 different nationalities. If you, your parents and your grandparents and probably your great grandparents were born and raised in America, you are 99.9999999% American. So much so that it is not even worth mentioning the other nationalities. When someone asks my nationality, I say American. Not polish.

That whole concept makes no sense. It is about the same as me shooting myself in the foot to collect child support.

i dont work at a fast food joint, i have when i was younger, but why do ppl think its ok to make fun of them, like somebody asked a question about how useless school was, and someone told them to drop out and go to mc'ds, is really ok to make fun of ppl just cuz theyre not as smart, many ppl are just born to not be as intelligent as others, so why do you make fun of them, when that could just as easily be you, and another thing is not all ppl that work at fast food places are morons, they have a good head on their shoulders, these are the ppl we should be making fun of, cuz theyre capable of much more, but theyre just to much of a pathetic loser

studies show that a child molester can never be reformed, and that no matter what they do they will always have the urges they do, so that to me implies they are born that way, but even so its still completely wrong, thats why i was wondering if homosexuals sympathized with them

To all readers, please note: the following is a discussion question. I am curious about how people would treat a welfare program, when their state government decided to order all singles to marry. Purpose: A married couple would receive LESS benefits than two singles. If the state chose to match partners Not by compatability, but by alphabet. If a state started with two lists, one male, and one, female, and assigned "Abraham Adamson" to "Annabelle Adams", how would most people react. Even more intriguing: What if the state did not take race into account, matching black women, to white men, and so on, just by virtue of whose name was next on the list. Also, what IF the terms of the marriage contract was that neither party could get divorced, for 5 years, or face total loss of all welfare benefits, for about 10 years. I would be very curious to know how the church, especially the CATHOLIC church would respond to such a welfare program. What do you think????

My first name means woman/strong - I hate it and have cursed my parents - their excuse for giving me a poor name was that it is quite an international name - true only because it is a boys name in some countries!!!!!!. I use the short name of Andie because I prefer it!! I'd love to be an Anya or a Jessica instead!!!

When I was a teenager, we did all the stuff teenagers do, mad parties, alcohol, drugs and sex, and that was before programmes like skins came on the TV making it seem normal!
What will todays teenagers do to make it feel like they are being Bad when this is 'normalized on TV?
Just wondered!

Wouldn't it be cool? Your cell phone rings. You reach for it and a text message pops up saying that "You can save 10 cents off a two-liter bottle of Coke at your Walmart store" if you show them your text message. And you'd get 30 such messages a day. And soon the "pre-approved loans" and "better sex" and "Viagra" messages start arriving.

A couple of years ago, a friend of mine was raped at a party. A pill was slipped into her drink, and she woke up the next morning, incredibly sick, and with no reccolection of the past nights events. A pregnancy resulted from the rape (as well as a hepititis diagnosis), and she decided to terminate it. I drove her to the doctor for the procedure, consoling her as best I could. When we arrived for the procedure, we were greated by a throng of protestors, some of which were handing our prayer cards, and others were dressed as the Grim Reaper, shouting at her that she, and I, were going to hell. Here is my question: Although I see the argument against abortion, I don't understand why one would choose to inflict more pain on someone who is already going through emotional turmoil. Why would people do this?
