BTW: Since I am older then most of you, I say "senior" with tongue in cheek. Actually, I don't like the senior word either, and am like others growing boldly older. The litany of hobbies cited are those that many young people associate with the over 60 crowd. To me, they are cliches- and dead ends.

I am retired. I am no longer in the first flush of youth. Some might say I am approacing late middle-age, others might call me old. One thing I am not is a so-called "senior citizen". I loathe and abominate that term.

While I am not a motor cyclist, I do support the motto of the Ulysses motor cycle club - "Grow old discracefully". You can do that as an old fart but you can't as a "senior citizen". Anyone who calls me a "senior" doesn't get a mention in my will. I'm getting old and proud of it, it took a lot of effort to get this far, don't call me "senior".

I can answer for my husband-gardening,playing cards at his club, and the one thing that he dosen't like is that his kids come home because of their mistakes that they have made and now it is like we are being punished too because we have to work around their schedules so we don't have our lives to do what we like to do.
