i think it's an issue of feeling more secure and mysterious.

nobody in there knows who you are, so you feel like you can say anything without any consequences and without being judged.

also, everyone is in there own home when they go in these chat rooms. they feel safe in the familiar environment. the situation is not intimidating at all.

Now? It's been going on for years. This is nothing new. The anonymity of the internet has always made it more comfortable than taking a chance that someone won't like your appearance or the way you present yourself, or your tone of voice etc. and you can overcome that by typing instead of talking.

Not me.. this is the pale comparison because there's no live place I can go and hang out with people who will talk about the stuff I want to talk about 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Besides, people can't discuss religion in this large of numbers in person. People would get their heads blown off and sh*t.

Yes. Between the various groups in here that are either somewhat or entirely antagonistic to other groups, I doubt any of us would stand even being in the same room together.

one of the big probs is ppl moving away from their friends...i hate it...Its depressing....two best friends 800 mi away...another one i n vegas another one 45 mi...ugh

yeah, it's easier to not to look at someone when you're insulting them or baring your soul.
